Winnipeg is willing to trade everyone according to reports from Pierre LeBrun. Any chance we can get Patrik Laine? Would you trade the 1st and then some for Laine?

i dont think the wings are in a position to trade draft picks for established players.  theyre so far away from contending right now.

Laine seems like the type of player that you want on your team until he's finally there.  All the talk of him being unhappy about his role while being invisible for long stretches of seasons, and also that he wants a huge contract, kind of make me wary.  I can't imagine Yzerman wants to give up their first even for a guy who is still only 22 if that's what we are looking at, but I could be way off.  It would be nice to add that goal scoring touch to the team, but I'm not sure if he would even score that much in Detroit until they got a higher caliber center to play with him.

why perfetti over rossi?

Just a hunch. Like scanning a few Amazon.com book reviews. It's not like I've ever watched any of them play. I like the guys who like Perfetti. If that means anything. Which it probably doesn't. 80% chance Yzerman picks someone else.

i mean hey, i dont know much about hockey and even less about hockey prospects.  i only know what other people tell me.

my impression from reading other people's impressions is that they are the same height but rossi is bigger and stronger and faster and better defensively.  now, maybe that means he has reached his physical ceiling and perfetti has room to develop, but right now, it appears to me that rossi is the better choice.

there is concern with both of them that they'll be too small to stick at center, but rossi seems more likely to because he's bigger.

he also is described as cocky with a nasty streak, which i think could be valuable.  and he speaks german so he can moritz can hang out together.

I was with you until your last sentence. Worst year of my life was in Heidelberg. Post-game interviews with them might trigger me.

i visited a friend once in heidelberg.  its a very pretty place.

lots of anti-americanism when i was there, but that's to be expected just about anywhere.

FWIW Elite Prospects lists them both at 185 pounds but Perfetti has an inch at 5'10'' on Rossi.  I don't think size is going to scare Yzerman away based on some of his Lightning moves but there is probably truth to what you're speaking of.

Blue Jackets* ha

For a player of Domi's skill he's moved around a decent amount so far.  Habs writers were floating Mantha for Domi trades for a little there.

Drysdale picked at #6 by Anaheim, none of Rossi, Askari and  Perfetti went in top 8.  Rossi went to Minny at 9. Jets took Perfetti at 10.

I like the Lucas Raymond pick and think he can be a prolific goal scorer for us.

Buffalo though had no business passing on Perfetti with how much of a dumpster fire they are.

The Wings traded AA to Edmonton for Gagner and two second round picks on feb 24th.

Today, Edmonton decided not to qualify him so he will leave them for nothing.

I like the two highly rated defenseman still on the board: Jeremie Poirier and Daemon Hunt. Select one of them with the 1st 2nd round pick... and then I see quite a few offensive playmakers I'd be happy with at #45... just need one to fall...
