It is the principle for him, and how far the precedent can be taken in the future.  He thinks the anti vaxxers are idiots, but at the same time has to fight for accessibility rights and has drawn a line in the sand.  As long as he can wear a mask he is happy enough to do so.

I guess my biggest problem with this is that we already have precedents regarding vaccinations, specifically in regards to school enrollment.

And one worries that the Governor's announcement, as well as actions in Florida and other states, could negatively impact requirements with regard to vaccination requirements at school.

Like, if they are willing to go this far in terms of the COVID culture war, what's the likelihood that COVID vaccinations will not ultimately be required along with all the other shots in regards to school enrollment once the vaccine is safe for all ages?

As an aside, one a-hole family had a ten-year-old who kept coughing in line. The line got a big gap as people stayed away because it was about every thirty seconds. A couple people let cast members know but they were powerless to do anything.

That is infuriating!

My husband has an image of his card on his phone.  I have his and mine on my phone.  Seems like jpg images are easily altered, though, by the kooks who enjoy trolling the system.   He showed his phone photo to his doctor so that she could record the information in his medical records.   We keep the cards in a safe place at home.  They are too large to carry in your wallet.

We have tons of appointments at UofM Ann Arbor for my boys and I always fill out all the initial paperwork online before we go...there is a screening you can do online then take a pic of the green circle with a check mark showing you have answered all the questions and are clear.  They have never asked to see it...I have shown it voluntarily a few times and they barely glance at it, sometimes I get there and they ask all the questions I already answered online anyway.

I don’t see that happening though some nut might try.   First, the school and daycare vaccination requirements are law, not on the whim of a private business owner.  Second, said law provides for exemptions which can be filed by the parent or guardian.  Third, the exemption provision also dictates that students who lack a particular vaccination can be excluded from attendance during an outbreak.  It says this on the exemption form that the parent signs.

But that's the thing.... when it comes time to include COVID vaccinations as a requirement for school attendance, even with the exceptions on the books, is it now so intertwined with culture war vice signaling that they end up changing the law?

Probably not, I agree, but after this latest State Legislature we had, nothing would shock me.

This depresses me.
The willingness to believe this nonsense, and the ease of passing it on as a “hypothesis” that “needs to be investigated”…….. this kind of mindless group-think is going to be the end of our society. The end.

I don’t quite understand what the issue is for major restaurant and retail chains to significantly increase their hourly pay to employees.  It’s not going to come out of their margins. They won’t even pay for it.   They will simply raise prices across the board and pass the cost along to the consumer.    That’s what they’ve always done.

None of the Chipotles by me are ever open after lunch time due to lack of employees.

We have had several restaurants here close for the same reason.
