If it wasn't so important of a thing I would take great satisfaction in seeing someone so smug like Azar be wrong.

I find it shocking that an admin led by a cheap salesman overpromised someting....

'You see that TruCoat.... they put that on at the factory"

I’m actually category 1A, plus NJ also just opened it up to seniors (so, I’m 2 for 2), ..... and I still can’t find any openings to make an appointment in over 39 places within 25 miles of my home.

It’s looking like I’ll be lucky if I can find my first shot within a month.

Kinda disappointing. (Ok. Very disappointing)

I’d love the opportunity to do what you did, Rob. Awesome.

That seems to be how it is here.... everybody got it through their employer somehow.... Outside of that I think it's just going to be a 'stumble into it' kind of thing.  Where i volunteered there didn't really appear to be any validation process.  I think if you pulled up and just put on the paper you work for "Dr. Jones" they wouldn't have stopped you.  I believe the location was communicated to work locations but outside of that it wasn't restricted.   It was just a form asking the basic covid questions and a spot to put in your employer.  But it was volunteers looking at it so we had no clue if it was real or not.

I know it creates anxiety and te belief that some are 'cutting'.  I know a guy who has doctor friend who will "hook him up".  I wouldn't do that.  But a person vaccinated is also a good thing too I guess.

I'm 68 and I'm not even a gleam in anyone's eye when it comes to scheduling a vaccination.  It is going to take a long time to get through at the residents at seniors' homes, all the frontline health care providers and other essential workers.  And good for them, they need it more than I do.

I’m in the same boat. No clue where I am in the queue. 68 borderline but not severe. I’m guessing it’s going to be late March before it gets close here. I do have a physical scheduled for mid February, but don’t want to make another trip north three weeks later.

I’m infuriated with this vaccine process.  I’m getting skewered by tribal nations right now.   The last week was the worst week of the entire pandemic from professional standpoint.  Positive vibes are now met with anger.  No one is in charge.

Two 75+ people in this household.  That puts us in 1b, but this state is hardly into the first group so far.  I'm hoping for late February but afraid it will be late March.  I'm certain I will get the disease the day before I'm scheduled for a vaccine.

a wife's co worker got it 10 days after she got the shot.  They say it starts to work 3 weeks after.  21 days between shots but if you can't get it on the 21st day it's better to wait until after.

Full effect is 7 days after the 2nd shot.   For Pfizer you can get the shot starting 17 days after your 1st (mine was 18 days).   And you can probably wait a couple months after the first and it will work the same.  2nd shot was a trip for me, chills and body aches for a full day.   Rough day.

I already know so many people that got a dose. Maybe more than have had covid.

Based on that assessment, Michigan had gotten 831,150 doses of vaccines as of Tuesday, and had administered 332,139 shots — about 39% of total doses received. Compared with other states, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ranked Michigan 33rd nationally on Wednesday.

The rest of the article is just excuses, which might be legitimate, but i'm sure the same issues and excuses other states have as well.

The most incompetent ******* administration in the History of America.

Ineptitude off the ******* charts.

The biggest collection of MORONS ever assembled on the planet.

One thing I saw in Crains is a large portion of those not administered are with the pharmacies tasked with long term nursing facilities.   There might be reporting issues

That is part of the excuses I've heard and referenced in that article.  So we're the only state that uses pharmacies tasked with providing the drugs for long term nursing facilities?

After learning of Azar's, um, error our governor (Oregon) said all school staff will be eligible immediately, people 80+ will be eligible starting on February 8th, 75+ will be eligible February 15th etc.

So, if I can find a line to stand in, my wife and I will be in it on February 15th.

Azar was so upset about the capital coup that 6 days later he went on national tv and lied about the vaccine to America.  All the while he was sending emails to DHHS staff about his portrait unveiling, and then he sent a second email canceling the portrait unveiling because of the threat on the capital.

Of course, the head of my agency was a trump appointee as well,  but i would have rather saw him stay, he was with the agency for over 25 years and he was doing a good job.

I don't know.  I've been very supportive of Whitmer and her admin in the whole covid situation but with regard to vaccines I am disappointed with a few things.  Seems like they don't hesitate to blame the feds or the counties but are not willilng to accept any responsibility.  And I fully understand the county's aggravation when they suddenly announced opening up the vaccine plan to broader groups when the counties didn't have the supply or systems in place to support it.  They just wanted a PR coup and left the counties scrambling to field thousands of phone calls with no solution or remedy.

Given the supply situation it would have been better to start the general public with smaller age ranges.  80+ first, then 75+, then 70+, etc.  That way you give people a more reasonable chance for good news.  My mother in law's doctor called her saying she can contact the county for a vaccine.  That got her excited.  But in reality it was just the doctor's way of saying "Don't call us, we don't have the vaccine, you are eligible to receive it though.  Good luck".  She was under the impression they were holding one for her somewhere.

Just under a month in, with the holiday season mixed in, we're around 3% of the country.  (Heck, 1/3 of the country may have antibodies that help somewhat)  That's not a good pace but given that Moderna was a week behind and we're ramping up production hopefully, and a 3rd or 4th vaccine coming the picture soon, maybe we'll have 4 by April, I think summer is still looking promising.

Because they never hear about the Trump incompetence. They hear plenty about the Biden criminality, though.

UK Variant found in Washtenaw County in an adult woman.... recently returned from the UK.  Why the **** are people travelling?  What was so important?  Thanks Karen.

State numbers are continuing to fall, lowest 7 day average since late October, we're one of the best states number wise.  Getting ready to allow in person dining again and a push for schools to go in person.  That could all be for naught if this UK variant takes off.

Now I"m depressed about it.

10 students back in isolation at UM and classes haven't even started. School is starting with a community infection rate 5 times what it was in September, and it took all of 6 weeks to lose control from that level. Add that to the possibility of the new variant possibly and I'm not feeling too cheery either.

Vaccination rate is about 1/2 what it needs to be. That part shouldn't be that difficult once Washington gets straightened out - which will probably still be another month.
