Another day, another round of "Caldwell sucks at everything and deserves no credit when we win, but all the blame when we lose."

Caldwell hired Austin (the guy everyone praises) when he was just a secondary coach. That is a GREAT decision on his part, that deserves immense credit.

Caldwell hired JBC (a guy who is generally viewed as a solid young OC), when we was just a QB coach.

Caldwell is praised up and down by the roster as being a guy they respect and play hard for, and his team has made the playoffs 2/3 seasons he has been in Detroit and his overall record in Detroit is 28-21.

I know this was in the heat of the moment, but dude had a QBR of 113 yesterday and had the 2nd best QB stats for the week so far.  I lol'd after that first pick and the team itself looked like garbage most of the first half, but they picked it up.

At the time of the message he had been awful.

Then he was awesome.

Shawn Windsor begins to sip the Lions Koolaid....when will you join him?

After one Detroit Lions win, it's hard to know what to believe

Is it real or an illusion?

Off to a good start, but I need about 5-6 more games to really judge this team.

This guy isn’t sipping. He’s gulping a supersized Kool-Aid brine. My god. It’s one game. One.

I’m not sure who, in this thread, has said any of this.

I am not sure if he was referencing anyone in this thread.  Most likely just a general rant against the Caldwell haters...maybe just from radio or TV or something.  But I am fairly confident that there are plenty of people who do not like Caldwell on this site.

the only thing separating those teams is that we have matt stafford and they dont.

I guess you could ask how a team with Matt stafford found themselves trailing that often.

I would also like to know the number of those games where the lions trailed by less than one score. Or what the average deficit was.

It does make for an interesting fact, but setting the cutoff at the beginning of the fourth quarter is also kind of arbitrary.

It's pretty dumb that last week's game counts as a fourth quarter comeback.

Seems like a legitimate 4th quarter comeback if one is counting by quarter.  It's not like they were on the goal line as the quarter started.  The Lions started the 4th quarter trailing and without possession.  They took the lead with 9.5 minutes left in the 4th on a drive started from their own 9 less than a minute into the quarter.

Perhaps there is a way to see the Lions record over the last 2 seasons when trailing with another arbitrary number of minutes left in the game.  If it's 9:30 or more than this game will still register.

EDIT: Oops, they fielded the punt at the 9.  Agnew returned it out past the 30.

That just goes to show that trying to fit these types of things into simple buckets is kind of pointless.

reminds me of a graphic that says "X points in the last Y minutes" where the time leading up to the first score is excluded.

Lions drive start times for the drives that eventually tied/took the lead:

9/11/16 Colts led 35-34 with :37 left

10/9/16 Eagles led 23-21 with 2:34 left

10/16/16 Rams led 28-21 with 14:05 left

10/23/16 Redskins led 17-13 with 1:05 left

11/6/16 Vikings led 16-13 with :23 left

11/20/16 Jaguars led 19-16 with 13:24 left

11/24/16 Vikings led 13-10 with 5:02 left

12/11/16 Bears led 17-13 with 6:59 left

9/10/17 Cardinals led 17-15 with 14:16 left
