Read this on ESPN.

The Clippers have broken up their scorers table and created room for eight court side seats. They won't comment on price but a league source is saying $175k per seat for the year.

This bothers me. I'm always worried a player is going to hurt himself by running into the end of the scorers table. With them breaking up the table you will now have more spots for this to happen.

Wade should pull a Andrew Bynum but do it in a game instead of practice.

For those that have no clue what I'm talking about, this happened after Bynum was traded to Cleveland.  In a practice he would shoot the ball every time he touched it.  Didn't matter the situation, where he was on the court, how many guys were guarding him.

Dwyane Wade Reportedly 'Assured' Bulls Would Be Competitive Before Opting in

I'm looking forward to how Kyrie reacts when Brad Stevens starts calling his former players number over Kyrie.

If you cant handle being second banana to the best player on earth, how will you deal with it when its to Gordon Hayward?

At least he knows Hayward isn't pulling the strings for the entire organization.

Some interesting contracts coming up soon.

Embiid and Jabari Parker are both saying they want max deals when their rookie deals end next summer.  Both are probably deserving from a talent perspective.  Embiid was a monster when he played and Parker was averaging 20 PPG when he got hurt last year.  But Embiid has played 31 games in 3 years.  Parker has two ACL surgeries.

I would let both test restricted free agency and see if they get max offers.  I would probably have to let both walk if they get a max offer.

The other is Okafor, but he is two years away.  But you wonder if Philadelphia will even pick up his option, as there is a little talk they might not.  I think eventually they do pick it up just because rookie contracts are so cheap.

These guys are obviously talented enough for max contracts, but I would hate to sign the front of that check after they go down for their next surgeries.

Jabroni needs to keep that rebounding above 6 per and the 3pt about where it was last season --along with playing in more than 50 games--to get that max contract if I'm GM.  If he comes back and starts playing well, I would probably make a few calls to see what I could get from him on the DL--if there is such thing as that with social media snitches everywhere today.

Giving more teams a better chance at getting a good pick?  Seems that would encourage tanking, not discourage it.

Why bother getting into the playoffs as a sacrificial 8th seed if now I have a better shot at moving up in the lottery?

Yeah, it shifts the incentive to tank. Now, it's incredibly valuable to try to be one of the worst teams in the league, and there is little value in being 10th in your conference. With the odds being flattened at the top, and increasing the chances of the lower lottery teams, it can be a lot better to be that 10th best team than the 7th or 8th.

I guess the thought would be to move away from trying to be completely awful, which is a good thing. This would seem to have an effect on offseason team building.

Late season tanking to avoid the 8th seed is probably not their concern. It would be pretty bold to actively try to avoid the playoffs down the stretch, and I doubt any teams would actually do that.

Plus, without seeing the odds that are assigned, it's hard to see the league giving decent odds to 13th or 14th worst team.

Giving each lottery team an equal chance would be 7% for each team. But we know that the top 3 will still have the highest odds. And those odds have to come from the average. What if it was like this?

top 3 13% - 39 total

4-5 10% - 20 total

6-8 7% - 21 total

8-10 4% - 12 total

11-14 2%. - 8 total

thats 100%

So, missing the playoffs doesn't really help you that much. Even if you made it completely flat at 7% each, the incentive to miss the playoffs still isn't very high.
