Fluke. He'll never do that again.

I lost a lot of respect for Gardenhire over his inability to make it work with Iglesias.

Easy.....just throw yourself on the ground..and just before you hit the ground, grab a moving ball, and use your wrist to throw the ball 80 feet dead on target and beat the runner.

I'm of the opinion that he's the only human on earth who can make that play; especially more than once.

It was pretty clear Gardenhire didn't like Iglesias as a player. Iggy is a guy that loves to play, and loves the flair, he is maybe less driven by winning than the joy of the play, and in my book there should be room for guys like that, especially when they have skill levels like Iggy's. But there was no room for that in Gardenhire's world, which is why Iglesias was out of it.

It seems like he couldn't get the most out of McCann either and McCann was supposedly his type of player.

It was against the White Sox, I think.  I flipped through some Iglesias plays on the interwebs.  Pretty sure I made a mental note about he Fielder was on 1st and, just going by recollection, that had to have been early on in Iglesias' tenure with Detroit.

He did, hence the sarcastic "fluke, he'll never do that again" comment. Dude is not human.

FG

Franklin Pérez, RHP, Detroit Tigers: .2 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 R, 2 K

At this point, just pitching in any kind of game is a victory for Pérez, whose career has been derailed by constant injury. Once arguably the centerpiece of the Justin Verlander deal, Pérez was 85-88 in his first spring outing, then 87-90 in his second. His secondary stuff still has pretty good action on it once in a while, though Pérez’s feel for locating anything is understandably very rusty right now. This is very much a “wait and see” situation at this point.

“This is very much a “wait and see” situation at this point.”

This also applies to the entire organization.
