Yes, I will acknowledge that Westbrook's all-around play is fantastic--but let's appreciate the 1988-89 season's stat line by perhaps the most underrated player of the late '80s--Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you:

                      G     FG%    3pt%    FT%    REB    AST    STL    TOV    PTS

Fat Lever      71    .457     .348     .785      9.3      7.9      2.7      2.2     19.8

Lever was overshadowed by bigger names on better teams in this era, but his 19.8/9.3/7.9 year of 89-90 was a somewhat typical year for him over a five-year run.  The year before this he got a 2nd team All Defense nod and the year before that, a 2nd team All NBA nod.  This guy suffered a devastating injury that all but ruined his career, but he was the tip of the spear in Doug Moe's offensive machine that was top-5 in the L over that period every season.  His prime was short, but it was sweet.

Westbrook seems to turn it over much better than Fat did.  2,2 per game?  Russ can do that in a quarter.

The Nuggs really pushed the ball in those years, and the years where Lever shared the backcourt with Adams were fun to watch.

I have a hard time getting past Russ' turnovers.

That makes it six in a row for Westbrook.

Looking now, Lebron had 3 in a row during the 2009 season.

3 in a row for Kidd in 2008.

A bunch had two in a row between 04 and 09 including Bob Sura?

Grant Hill had 3 in a row in 1997.

Shawn Bradley had 2 in a row, with blocks instead of assists.

Jordan had a 3 game streak in 1989 and a 7 game streak the same year.

Fat Lever with a 2 game streak.  And a 3 game streak.

Between 89 and 94 Magic had a bunch of 2 game streaks.  Oh, he had a 4 game streak too.

Larry Legend with a 3 game streak.

The streak finder stops at 1983.

I finally found a use for Silver and 538, he posted a chart of dudes that have scored 60 points or more in a game.

But who the **** is Joe Fulks, you ask?  Glad you asked, because I did as well and I've got love for this guy.

Played a year at Murray State, went off to WWII, returned from battle, then played another year before having a HOF career.  I respect the **** out of that!

Every time I think Jordan is unquestionably the GOAT.  Someone posts a Wilt stat that makes me rethink things.

Like you have said before, it is so hard to compare superstars across eras, at least in terms of who was the "best".

But if you are going to reserve the title "best" for a player, Wilt would be an incredible choice.  Career slash of 30.1/22.9/4.4 while shooting 54%.  Incredible longevity as well, could have played a few more years as he left the game averaging 18.6 REB with a FG% of .727--a fitting number for a man of his stature.

Wilt's 50 point average is something that won't be touched.  There are detractors who say Wilt was playing against vastly worst athletes, but then you see some of his games vs Russell and you know he could go off on anyone, anytime.  Then there are all the blocks that aren't recorded.  For all we know, he could have averaged 7 BLK when he was with Philly.

We're also talking about a center who racked up a league-best 702 AST one year, which is remarkable in and of itself.   But you put it in his slash line from that season and it doesn't even seem real:  24.3/23.8/8.6.  One can all but pencil in 4-5 BLK as the fourth slash.
