Justin Verlander (16-8, 3.10)

Verlander lines up to pitch what could be a win-or-go-home contest. He’s 8-2 with a 2.00 ERA since the All-Star break, holding opponents to a .176 batting average.

Julio Teheran (6-10, 3.33)

A rain delay ended Teheran’s start vs. the Phillies after just four innings on Tuesday, when he tied his season high of six runs allowed on 10 hits. He has posted a 4.86 ERA since coming off the disabled list on Aug. 19.

September 24th blown save one strike away... bases loaded last night with nobody out...zilch. I'm not overly optimistic. Maybe all the stars align but I doubt it.

Please avoid negativity. People are very sensitive to negativity and find it distasteful, so please conform. Drink the koolaid. It's tasty!

I like realism. Constructive criticism is good.  I also don't mind when someone expresses their frustration on occasion.  I don't like it when someone is constantly negative just for the sake of being negative or someone who distorts the facts to make things seem worse than they are.

I guess I don't understand why some folks bother watching if it rumples their panties so much when the Tigers lose and there is no joy to be had when they win.

You know the Tigers have made great strides when even Stanpapi has become a sincere optimist. Maybe because they smashed so many of his predictions. 86 wins with 1 or 2 to play after they were supposed to be a .500 team at best, just won 2 of 3 from Cleveland when getting swept should have been expected based on the season series from earlier in the year, and playing a meaningful game the final day of the regular season when the season was proclaimed over around 6 weeks ago.

Unfortunately I don't share Stanpapi's deeply-felt positivity, I'm disappointed the Tigers are in this position. But let's see what happens today. I do dare to hope we may still be in contention tomorrow.

I like being positive. This is a great 200M team on the cusp of having the chance to get into a game to get into a game to get into the playoffs. We should rejoice. Frankly, It's depressing to be criticized for being right all the time. So I will refrain from pointing out that I was right. We are going to do this! rah rah tigers!

I agree.  If someone only says positive things about the Tigers, I tend not to pay much attention to them.  It isn't annoying, but their opinion tends not to be interesting.
