Pro tip: hit up Crabby Bills.

Thanks.  How far is it from Indian Shores to Madeira Beach?  It's hard to judge on the map.  We originally were going to stay there but couldnt quite find the right condo with a full view of the gulf that met our other needs.  Most of the places up there were either set back so another building blocked it or on an angle.  We decided to spend the extra few hundred to get the place we got.

Smart move! I haven't been there in a decade so I don't really remember. Can't be too far though.

UM's McQuade weighs on the Cosby decision. Supporting the court 100%. Her angle is that is was no business of Castor's to try to support a civil litigant in the first place. I guess you can put that into a general context of letting the ends justify the means.

Then again, but would Constand give back her $3.8mill for the sake of seeing another hung jury criminal case?

Quote

If you want to blame someone for Mr. Cosby’s release, blame Mr. Castor. In a 2015 email message, Mr. Castor explained that the purpose of his news release was to assist Ms. Constand in a civil case. By removing the possibility of a criminal prosecution, Mr. Castor was making it impossible for Mr. Cosby to avoid answering questions at a deposition by invoking his right against self-incrimination....

.....By promising not to prosecute Mr. Cosby, Mr. Castor was essentially letting him off the hook criminally so that he could be vulnerable to civil penalties. It is not the duty of a prosecutor to assist a victim in litigation strategy for a civil case. A prosecutor’s duty is to use discretion responsibly to make decisions about charges. Mr. Castor failed to use his discretion responsibly....

....Even when a prosecutor believes the evidence is insufficient to file criminal charges, he rarely makes a public statement binding himself to that position because that situation is always subject to change. The possibility of obtaining more evidence of a crime makes a commitment against prosecution ill advised. By overreaching to help the civil case, Mr. Castor blocked his successor from sustaining a conviction of Mr. Cosby. And Mr. Castor’s initial decision that the evidence was insufficient to prosecute may be his most egregious error.

Honestly, any of them advertised for that use will get the job done.  The primary ingredient is bleach.  I have used just regular Clorox with success, but I like a more gel type product that sticks to the crud.  Let it sit a bit, then scrub with a nylon scrubby or a brush. Rinse.  Done.

I get the revenue piece, I can't even disagree with the decision to legalize it. But it feels like advertisements are the Wild West right now and it's likely scamming millions into the pockets of Fan Duel and all of these casinos. I listened to a two or three minute segment yesterday on sports talk radio with two commentators going back and forth, both hyping up a parlay on the Suns finishing off the Clippers last night, along with the point spread and something else, and how just completely obvious a bet it was.

How many people heard that, or similar commentators across the nation on making the same plug, thought "oh these people know what they're talking about, they are sports analysts" and put money they couldn't afford to lose on a three-leg Suns parlay? Those plugs are in all likelihood being made BY the house, through those people's voices! And the only people facing repercussions for it are the gamblers who are losing a lot to line the pockets of millionaires.

How many people who were previously never exposed to gambling going to start on a ~no-risk free bet~ or the ~$250 bonus match~ that I'm staring at on this site? How many of those people are then going to learn that they can't responsibly gamble, but too late, after they've already lost their house or retirement?

The legislature reigned in cigarette advertisements when they were going too far, targeting kids, and ignoring health impacts. At what point does that happen here?

This is exactly the thing I've been contemplating about the mainstreaming of sports gambling: when 2040 rolls around, is gambling addiction going to be considered America's greatest health hazard, and will it be attacked like cigarette smoking starting in the early 70s?

That said, look how long it took to get cigarette advertising out of most media,

Does anyone have experience in dealing with lost baggage from an airline? I chose to fly Spirit (that was my first mistake I guess) down south for the 4th of July. On my way back from Atlanta I went to check my bag in and the printer at the bag tag machine never printed off the bag tag itself. A friendly Spirit Associate promptly came over to me and said I should just take it up to the main counter and they can tag it at the counter. Cool, seems easy enough.

So I take it up to the counter, they scan my boarding pass and tell me I am all set and that they will tag it. That was mistake number two on my part, because I left before getting a baggage conformation ticket, which in the back of my mind I new wasn't right. Sure as ****, I get to Metro Airport and wait for a 1/2 hour at the baggage carrousel only to have no bag come out. I go over to the Spirit baggage claim office at Metro and they give me a little ticket stub with a QR code on it, tell me to scan it, enter in my personal info/address, and that my bag will be tracked and shipped to me in 3-4 business days. Here we are, day 4, no bag has been sent to my house, I go to the link on the Spirit website where they are supposed to provide updates on your claim, and no updates since yesterday morning.

So how long do I give it before I declare my bag officially MIA for good and demand a reimbursement from Spirit. I've scoured the internet for an 800 # for Spirit to call where I can actually get a live human being to speak with and you can't get anyone on the phone outside of a reservations person. Should I drive up to Metro and go back to the baggage claim office and follow up there? What is a person to do? Scrambled eggs all over my face!

We've dealt with Delta on many lost bags over the years but they always found them quickly working the regular process. I would guess that the fact that you never saw an agent tag the bag means by the time they realized they hadn't done it they forgot where it was going, in which case they should have just held it at Atl. Your problem is how do you get in touch with the Spirit baggage people at Hartsfield, because I'd guess they are your best chance to know there is a bag sitting in a corner waiting for someone to call.

I've lost a bag with Delta, but it was on the trip home after 11 days away. I just had to drive out to the airport & pick it up the next morning, which for me wasn't a big deal.  I will never fly Spirit again.  It's just not worth the hassle - & their customer service is awful.

Been kicking around the idea of building a new PC.

Maybe not.

I realize that is bleeding edge.  But even dropping down to 3080 TI is still $1,100.  A normal 3080 is $699.

Stupid Bitcoin.
