2015 NBA Playoffs

Recommended Posts

Ok, I am exaggerating a bit from what you said but I have been hearing a lot of that now.

The Dwight Howard/Josh Smith hate is strong, and people are suddenly saying Dallas and LA were easy matchups. Houston is a good team. They had the 2nd best record in the West and are now in the WCF. For all their problems, they have consistently been one of the best teams in the NBA all year.

My bold prediction is that Harden will out perform Curry in the WCF.

I don't think LA was an easy match-up at all. I thought Houston was the worst team left in the west, so props for winning.

But, when you are down 3-1 and down double digits in the 4th quarter of game 6, you needed some help.

The west was brutal this year. Houston earned the 2nd seed even through injuries to some of their key players. Heck, 2 of their main rotation players all season aren’t even playing in the playoffs.

They have also earned their place in the WCF by beating 2 good teams in the playoffs, under the most remarkable of circumstances. I give all the credit in the world to Houston. Dwight has played GREAT this post season, Harden is Harden and guys like Terry, Prigioni, Smith, Ariza and Brewer have been great role players.

West is a little overrated this year. It was better last year with a healthy OKC team.

Houston is missing their dirtiest player in Patrick Beverly. Jason Terry spends most of his after shot time on celebrating w/ his jet dance and letting his man score easy transition buckets, whereas Beverly is spending his after shot time getting his foot in position for his man to land on after jump shots and shattering his ankle. Imagine the Clips without Paul? Or the Warriors w/o Curry.

^ Ridonkulous! I want a game TONIGHT!

IIRC, they used to get the 5 game series done, the first round series, is short order. Just like when I hear about how tough these players have it today during the regular season. I think they used to play back to backs all the time. Not sure though.

Maybe, but GS wasn't this good last year and any conference where SA is the 6 seed is impressive to me. The 6 seed out East is the sub .500 Bucks

SA is a year older than last year.

The Warriors still made the playoffs last year, OKC didn't this year.

45 wins got you the 8th seed this year. It took 49 last year.

You had a 48 win Suns team miss the playoffs last year.

Don't get me wrong, the west is crazy good. I just think last years version was better.

There are two players left who can lead their teams to championships, Curry and LeBron. Harden is going to eat it this series. The refs are already coming down hard on his flopping. Harden's flopping and flailing every drive to the hoop should be fineable. He is still shooting way more FTs than he deserves (18! last game) but if that was a regular season game he woulod have shot 30, they made him eat some of those drives in which he had zero intention of making a basket. His 7 TOs were all of the same variety.

And LOL at the guy saying Hawks in 7.

Harden not getting the calls as it should be, he should be fined consistently next year, dude snaps his head back every drive even with no contact. The intent is the same as when a defensive guy flops on a charge. We need to stop the evilness that is James Harden.

But he's still pretty good, 28/11/9 on 11-19 shooting. But the guy should never have the 44 point nights on 14 shots kinda deals he gets in the reg season

I stomach Harden's theatrics far more than I can stomach LBJ stiff-arms going unchecked.

Steph Curry now just seven three-pointers shy of Reggie Miller's NBA record for threes in a single postseason - Western Conference finals more than Stephen Curry vs. James Harden

I can't remember the exact numbers. But I think Reggie did it in 22 games and Curry has played 11.

America's Sweetheart and my worst nightmare as a basketball fan is coming to an end. The Hawks are getting trounced to a team missing two of their 3 best players. The team who was matched talent for talent by the Brooklyn Nets, a team who had a 4 seed sit their best player for two games solely for precautionary reasons and still won one of those games and would have won the series if healthy, a team so cuddly the national media foolishly put 4/5 of the starting lineup in the AS game because they beat teams like 76ers and Knicks en route to 60 wins.

It's over, predictably as I predictably predicted when the playoffs started, in the ECF, and in a trouncing.

Webber talking about sitting Irving for the rest of the series, for, gasp, "precautionary reasons". Guys, the Hawks are a 1 seed, Nastra has them as one of the top 5 teams of all time, and in B2B series, the lower seed is resting players who can play if they actually respected the Hawks.

It's feels like I am watching a preseason game. Want to know if a team is really any good, use the home crowd test as an indicator. If a home crowd cheers their loser team when they lose a playoff series as a way of showing appreciation for their "lil upstarts who vastly overachieved", that means you suck. The home crowd knows. The Hawks will get the biggest standing ovation at a basketball arena since Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock rocked the Palace at halftime in Gores' first year as an owner. Huge ovation coming.
