Why I sometimes hate hometown fans.

Davis scores 39 against Monroe and Monroe is the worst defender to ever don a basketball uniform.

Davis scores 35 against Draymond Green and you wont hear a peep.

He shot 56% in both games.

He had 15 points and 1 rebound through 3 quarters and by that time it was a 20 point lead. He had some nice garbage time stat stuffing, even made it a little close at one point, but Draymond won the battle.

Edit: Should say Bogut and Green won the battle between Asik and AD. Bogut was fantastic. GSW won the battle on the boards which can't happen if the Pelicans are going to steal a game.

In Davis' defense, this was an obvious let down from the Spurs game, they had to go to Oakland and play a team waiting to demolish them. Plus, New Orleans has to change their backcourt. Their is zero intelligent thought going on when it comes to building around Davis. Asik was smart in theory, but they need to move Tyreke Evans. I don't really care for Jrue Holiday there either. Somehow Eric Gordon makes sense just sucks his price tag is so high, limits their cap flexibility.

They need SF not named Tyreke Evans, they need a PG who can shoot and is willing to take a backseat. They have two ball handlers in their top 5 who have a problem taking a backseat.

Davis can get his numbers vs anybody, sure, but you can't use yesterday numbers w/o explanation. Its cool he showed up when the defense relaxed a bit and got himself some numbers. Draymond and Bogut kept him out of the game until they amassed a 20 point lead. 15 pts 1 rebound. Charlie V thinks those numbers are terrible. He didn't show up, or to screw up your narrative, they held him check with Draymond Green starting in the frontcourt. Big garbage time stats though. Almost gave the Warriors a slightly elevated heart rate toward the end.

I'd build around Tyreke and Davis. That Jrue Holliday trade was a bit crippling though. I always liked the thought of Noel and Davis playing together.

You would want Tyreke running around trying to steal stats from every one else on the team when you have a superstar in Anthony Davis? Evans is a Lance Stephenson without the crazy, he is trying to get his numbers. The type of dude that will hold his hand up after a contested tip until he feels the stat dept sees it while his guy leaks out for an easy layup.

Last part was not an exaggeration, that happened in a game two weeks ago, Monty had to pull him from the game.

Games are still 48 minutes, right?

Playing two minutes in the third didn't help his cause any.

He essentially had 15 points in a half. Which put him on pace for 30, which is well over his season average.

My bad. He played 7 minutes in the 3rd. They had it split up in 5 and 2 minute increments.

Maybe, but he was a big plus in RPM offensively this year and has gotten his assist % up to true PG levels. He had a great year for them throughout all their injuries and losing him early in game 1 was a huge blow to NO
