I think the Pistons acquitted themselves reasonably well by going 2-2 out west. I know they beat only the Clippers and Kings, but they played the Warriors to a four-point loss, and playing three times zone away is never an easy time even for good teams. At least there's a little bit of fight in the old dog.

I didn't see the game, but Jared Sullinger from OSU had a nice stat line last night. 26 points and 10 rebounds on 13-17 shooting. Wasn't against a cupcake either. It was against #10 Florida. Not bad for a freshman playing his second game.

Is it too early to start a 2011 draft thread?

I watched pretty much the entire game, Sullinger was the best player on the floor, hands down. Active hands down low to, I think he had a couple steals to go along with the killer stat line. OSU is going to be really good this year.

And to answer your question, no.

For tonights game its hard to imagine the pistons winning tonight, they cant matchup with the lakers.

I have been meaning to watch some youtube film of this guy. I know OSU fans are absolutely in love with him. Certainly a guy the Pistons have to be watching this year.

This is thought provoking. Why do all the hyped OSU big men suck?

Sullinger did look good though, its hard to look away...

I have not seen Sullinger play so I will reserve judgement on him. Oden was always overhyped because of his massive size and decent athleticism for a guy his size. He could have been (or still could be) a great defensive player but was always raw offensively.

Koufos is 21 years old. Mullens is 21 years old. They were taken with the 23rd and 24th picks in the draft respectively. I would hardly say it is surprising that these guys suck right now.

What you and deleterious are saying both seem correct. I do wonder how good Mullens and Koufos can be though.

What about Oden though? If someone put a gun to your head, how would you say his career turns out? Will he ever be healthy?

Dont watch Sullinger on youtube or anything though, doesnt do it justice. He played a top 10 team last night (Florida might be too highly ranked) and looked great in his 1st real game, as a freshman.

My personal feeling is that Oden will get healthy at some point and become a decent starter in this league. I don't think he will ever be an all-star because I don't think he will score enough points. But I love players who are long and can alter shots in the paint. Maybe Portland would trade him and the Pistons should take a chance on him? Aldridge, in my mind, is clearly a center now. Could they use a Tayshaun, Stuckey, or CV?

I think to trade one of those players it would take a 3 way trade. The blazers have Batum at SF and he is only 21 and appears to be pretty decent. I cant imagine anyone taking CVs contract. BUT, Tay and Stuckey are both valuable commodities, imo. Tay has the expiring deal that would work for many teams and Stuckey would be a good combo guard off the bench. Im guessing the Pistons and Blazers could find a partner if they wanted to get Oden.

I love on League Pass when Blaha and Kelser end their pre-game wrap and FSD continues to show them on camera. Simple pleasure.

Call me a nut but I'm predicting AND expecting a win. It's 100% wishful. I actually even wagered on it. Put the money where the mouth is. No real reason to back it up other than a gut feeling. I still have these delusional thoughts where I consider the Pistons a tough team to play against at home.

Man, those years where we were elite, teams did not come in to the Palace and beat them. That was fun.

I hear ya.

I recall telling buddies at that time to never forget how much fun this team is to watch and how special they were. I never, ever expected it to end so abruptly. I didn't say it to sound like a know-it-all, but moreso as a reminder to myself that this is what sports is all about. I follow each sport across the board, but I have never experienced such success for such a prolonged period of time.

No way will Portland deal Oden. Aldridge can play center, but playing PF gives him a huge advantage. He is athletic and quick enough to guard the PF spot, but his length creates problems for other teams when he is on offense. Big advantage that I would not want to lose by moving him to center.

I have no clue if Oden will get healthy. I do know if he does, he will be a very dominant center in the league. He is a top 5 rebounder and shot blocker that will control the paint. His offense does need some work, but what 22 year old big mans doesn't. 3rd or 4th year is when big men start to get it. Maybe a bit longer with Oden since he missed so much time with injury.

Im only 25, so the Pistons from 02-08 were the 1st team I really watched become elite, remain there, and then fall apart. I pretty much watch every sport as well, and have strong followings, so I will appreciate when it comes next.

I am still waiting for the Leafs to make it to the finals, thats my number squad.

If Oden was available, I would hope the Pistons make a play for him.

I think CV could be a popular name thrown around at the deadline. He is an offensive machine off the bench and would be a great for a playoff team that actually has good players who play defense to help cover up CV's weaknesses.

Guys like yourself and a few of my friends deserve some happiness derived from your Leafs. I grew up in a very anti-Leafs household in Windsor, but that doesn't take away any thought that I have regarding a dedicated fan base deserving a little happiness.

Kobe is flat out awesome.
