I'm not as concerned about this series as others seem to be. I think the Twins will take one of the three. I am mainly concerned about Miner on the Tigers side. Will he knuckle down and pitch well or do the hitters have him figured out? On the Twins side it is Santana that has me concerned.

This doesn't concern me so much because they're incredibly hard to beat right now. They're on an 84 Tigers type of hot streak, having gone 34-8 over their last 42 games. That's amazing. If we win one I'll be happy.

And at the same time the Tigers have gone 31-11. Not too shabby. Playing them in Minnesota, rather than the overall hotstreak, concerns me more. They are 37-11 at home. Even when they were struggling they still won home games.

I think the Tigs will win 2. But I was confused about your fears. You are afraid of Miner (pitching tomorrow) and of Santana (pitching on Sunday) but you are confident we will win at least one of these games?

Agree about Miner. This start will be a good mental test for him. The pressure is on, he has had a few bad starts, Maroth is progressing and obviously wants his starting job back, the Twins are the hottest team in baseball, I'm sure Miner is feeling some pressure. If he pitches well, even if he doesn't win, it will say a lot about him.

I guessed 2/3, and that's what it is: a guess. But even if they went 0/3 and the Sox swept the Orioles, that still keeps us up +5½ on both of them.

I think we're in very good shape now. I'm pleased at this moment. The only thing I can think of this would seriously **** this up is an injury to one of our injury-prone regulars.

A concern isn't a fear and perhaps I should have used different words for Santana and Miner.

I am concerned about Miner and fear Santana.

I think this is where the Tigers show a killer instinct and put the Twinkies out of reach. The Tigs have been almost every bit as hot as the Twins (as pointed out by Dawgs) and I think our offense will play well in the Metrodome. Plus, I think Minor bounces back from some bad starts. Tigers sweep.

If the Tigers win just one I'll be happy. As was stated already by Oblong the difference between a sweep and the Tigers winning at least one is huge.

5 1/2 and it suddenly becomes a pretty nice threat.

I thought going into this week the Twins clearly had a chance to make some noise. Of course any moron could figure that out. But right now they have accomplished the first half of that task. It'll be interesting to see what happens here.

This should be the series everyone glances at this weekend regardless who else may be playing.

The best team in baseball vs. the hottest team in baseball who is suddenly (at least) in the WC chase. I'm pretty excited. I recently got tickets to the entire Tiger Twins series in August. Now I just have to convince my wife I should be able to go to all three games despite the fact our anniversary is smack dab in the middle of that series. I could be hitting some serious turmoil pretty soon. :classic:

Twins win tomorrow...Miner vs Liriano at the cheat dome. That is no contest.

I dont know the rest of the matchups. The Twins could easily win 3 but I think Bonderman could win a game even though he may face Santana.

I think the Tigers win 1. A good stand against a 37-11 hometeam that cheats at home and always has.

Really selling our guys short there. In a sport where failing 70% of the time is success, calling a game no contest before it has even started, is beyond hyperbole. May as well just forfeit.

The Tigers have ROCKED Liriano and Radke this year. Dont give me that BS answer how Liriano came from the Bullpen.

Zumaya and Verlnader have also been "rocked" several times this year. So what? You don't think this happens to everyone?

I like the Bonderman vs. Santana matchup. Who else do you want out there? JV already outdueled him in the first matchup. Get our other bulldog out there and lets watch the future of MLB display itself before our eyes.

Miner vs. Liriano is the game I would expect the Tigers to lose, but stranger things have happened. Robertson vs. Radke will be a good game, probably a 5-4 or 6-5 ballgame. I think the key is to get quality starts from each starter so the bullpen isn't taxed like it just was in Cleveland. W, L, or ND we need 6 quality innings from these guys.
