Miguel needed to sit down for a day, or two, or . . .

Do we see him moved in the lineup anytime soon?  I would guess not after this day off, but you have to wonder.  Its easy to keep him there for now because the team is so awful and its still early in the season to where you can publicly excuse it as a slump.

Miggy was already busted from 3rd in the order to 4th last night, for what that's worth.

But this is also a day game after a night game, which I believe has been a sitting opportunity for MIggy for a few years now, probably at least in part due to his age, and perhaps also in part due to his low level of conditioning even for his age. Consider, too, that Miggy has already had 14 days off out of 31 games, so sitting him down is not much of a statement.

What would be a huge statement is if Miggy gets batted any lower than 5th, since he hasn't started a game even that low in the order since 2008. So even batting him even fifth would be seen as a big deal, and I would also bet Miggy would see it as an insult. Besides, even if Hinch wanted to drop Miggy down the order, I would not be surprised to learn that Al Avila would veto anything lower than fourth.

The Miggy's Batting Slot story will be yet another entertaining sidebar to follow this season.

I think anyone with close to 50,000 posts should feel free to start a thread about anything they want anytime they want.

Baddoo finally back in the lineup. Candy doesn't hit that 3R HR last night if Baddoo isn't on first inspiring him.

TBF, good speed on 1st might have helped "inspire" Whitlock to throw a FB (well a sinker) his catcher would have chance to make a good throw on.

actually he hit 4th four times in the 1st seven games. As I understood it from one early interview, 3/4 was going to be RHP/LHP thing based on the three guys Hinch thought wanted at the top against RHP - Grossman, Castro and Candelario, but Castro didn't hit and got moved down, so Miguel stopped hitting 4th

Mazara is coming back soon.  Who goes down?

Gotta be Reyes.

I don't like Jones, but he probably bought himself a little bit of time with the past couple of days.

half dozen of one,  6 of the other. From the player perspective I would guess that at this point there is probably more chance that moving back to easier competition and playing everyday can benefit Reyes' confidence/timing more than Jone's, so I'd agree on that basis also.

Who did we bring up when Mazara went on the IL in the first place?  I'm having trouble parsing the transaction log.

We had Cabrera -> Nunez -> Short -> Cabrera, Teheran -> Lange, and Jimenez -> Turnbull, but the Mazara thread was who?

Edit: Ah, I forgot that Joe didn't make the team.  So Mazara -> Jimenez -> Turnbull, which essentially means that Lange is currently Mazara's spot on the active roster.  There doesn't seem like any chance they'd go back to 5 OFs, though.

In other transaction news, it's time to slam dunk da funk.

Baddoo was doing his best, but nobody can top Quniton Berry clapping at first.

Would it really hurt to send both down?
