Hate this but it's exactly right.....

Lets see how this staff does. This is a YOUNG staff and they are all hungry. I think they have a chance to turn this around...... Mike Hart was a BEAST recruiter so far. Clink seems legit. Bellamy seems legit. Should be interesting to see if Morgan changes a lot from the Dudek area...... Thats what I want to see most.

Even if they can recruit, Harbaugh has proven he either struggles in player development or can't develop them altogether. There is a list of 4-5 star recruits that haven't developed or regressed under Harbaugh's watch. Furthermore, when it comes to the most important position on the field, the QB, Harbaugh has failed to deliver a good starting QB since Jake Ruddock graduated out, be they transfer or recruited kids. John O'Korn was a colossal disaster,  Shea Patterson failed, Brandon Peters failed to develop, Dylan McCaffery was apparently so bad in camp that Joe Milton beat him out for the starting job, and Joe Milton was so bad during the season he got benched at multiple points for Cade McNamara. Now, whose starting this season at QB? McNamara, JJ McCarthy, Alan Bowman? Given just how many potential future starting QBs end up transferring out of Michigan out of frustration with Harbaugh (Peters, McCaffery, Milton) will McCarthy even be here to start the 2022 season? All this at the position that Harbaugh is supposed to be an alleged guru at developing and coaching up. The QB whisperer ain't whispering the right things because these guys, one after another, fail to develop or live up to the hype and expectations.

I don't want to keep going through this charade. Every awake and honest person knows Harbaugh needs to go. I don't want to wait around to the point that we miss out on Luke Fickell or at minimum Matt Campbell. I want the guy gone and someone else given the chance because we're 6 years in with this guy and we've won nothing of significance and have regressed towards Brady Hoke territory. Eat the money by firing Harbaugh sooner rather than later, offer Fickell Nick Saban money at $9-$10 million a season and let him get started sooner rather than later.

Just curious. What will you think if Fickell is a .500 record this year? Still worth persuing?

Yes. Fickell has proven he can recruit the midwest at both Ohio State and Cincinnati and then develop the players he recruits. He's got multiple 11 win seasons under his belt, a covid shortened 9 win season and his teams are competitive in the big games unlike Harbaugh's. Cincinnati damn near beat a very good Georgia team this past season, only losing by 3. Harbaugh would have lost that game by 23. He went from a 4-8 team to 11-2 in the span of one season as well when he took over in Cincinnati.

What a coincidence, Harbaugh has been a disaster in almost every big game he has coached since he got to Michigan. As for signature wins of Fickell, I'll grant you that he lacks them. He beat a good UCF team a couple of times and was competitive as **** against Georgia. But him not playing in a power 5 conference obviously hurts him and he lacks a truly marquee win. That said, he's shown the ability to recruit good players in the midwest, develop them, and win. Fickell will remain at the top of my list until he does something to get off of it. I'd be excited for Brent Venables, Matt Campbell or PJ Fleck too, but Fickell is at the top of my list.

I see that Fickell lost to OSU 42-0.  Maybe he is a Michigan man.

An ugly loss in his second year of the program at Cincinnati. I think if you put the full weight of the Michigan brand behind a guy like Fickell and then allow he and his staff full recruiting prowess like Alabama, OSU, Clemson, and ND coaches have you will see Michigan start to turn around.

If you don't want Fickell then who? Keep Harbaugh? Matt Campbell? PJ Fleck? Mike Hart?

Not sure who I would want to be honest.  Ambivalent on Fickell.   Huge no on Fleck.  Campbell is worth an interview.  If Mike Hart went to <Insert any other school here> he wouldn't even be in this conversation.

I like Billy Napier from Louisiana.  OC for Dabo his first year or two at Clemson, on Sabans staff at Alabama.  First year at Louisiana he was .500 but has gone 21-4 in the past two years combined with two bowl wins.  His signature win was probably blowing out Iowa State last year in Ames 31-14.

Doesn't matter.  Napier isn't coming north of the Mason-Dixon line.

Campbell likes guys who get good grades in real curricula. That would melt a lot of hearts in Ann Arbor.
