A lot of the starting pitching is welcome back, but man, hard to say the same for any of the position players. Just horrendous

Yeah, meant the offensive/position players.

Urena doesn't strike a lot of guys out, which in this day and age is a little concerning, but he seems like he has very good command, he does not get rattled (case in point, the other night where the clowns made 5 errors behind him) and he limits hard contact.

C-Mo has never met a pitcher going against this Tigers team who wasn't a Cy Young contender...

Craig Monroe has been SLURPING on the Tigers hitters in the top of the 6th, and saying how KLUBER has been amazing.

How about the hitters just adjust?

Oh yeah, Miggy with ANOTHER easy out.  It is getting really sad to see him make easy out after easy out after easy out, he is down to .118, with an OPS of .450

Is it just me, or is anyone else sorta kinda deep down getting some perverse satisfaction from seeing the hitters set all time futile lows?  If it means getting rid of AA, then i am all for it.

It is so bad, that it is almost comical.

*raises hand...if they'r gonna suck, and show absolutely zero progress (regressing in fact), I'm here for the Benny Hill yuks and chuckles.

In politics this is called Accelerationalism.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accelerationism

Quote

In political and social theory, accelerationism is the idea that capitalism and technological change[1] can or should be "accelerated" and drastically exaggerated. The goal of accelerationism is to trigger unprecedented revolt and the establishment of new, unique political and economic systems.[2][3][4]

Obviously, this is not the same for a baseball franchise since the revolution won't be to eliminate baseball or change the Tigers to a professional Jai Alai team.

I honestly feel bad for the starters, they all deserve better.

Otherwise, I'm getting to this point. Its ridiculous

Agreed, the starters HAVE to feel like they can only allow 1 or 2 runs, and if they allow 2, they probably lose.  That is no way to go out there game after game

Ureña has been legit impressive in this game.

Too bad he has a Single-A lineup backing him up

Urena has really caught my attention with two outstanding starts.

Avila can flip him for a weak hitting SS who really isn't a SS, and a power arm that whatever team he trades with no longer wants much to do with.  They need more Dawel Lugo's

Can you imagine if they had hit on the deadline trades?   Dombrowski would have.

ahhh...the 3-1 weak popup.  The sign of confident hitting.

I cannot recall a pitcher having an easier game than Kluber today.  I know they got 2 hits, but they were just little flares.  Even in no hitters there are usually some hard hit balls.  Other than a foul ball by Jones, i don;t recall one hard hit ball.

This is the worst hitting stretch I an ever remember for most any team in my lifetime

We've had a lot of frustrating games, but this one may take the cake.

You couldn't ask more from Tigers pitching other than an outright shutout, and this lineup can't do ****. And make it look downright easy for Kluber.

Cabrera absolutely toast. It’s going to be a sad couple years as he chases 3000 and 500.

Keating: “pitching clinic by Kluber”

I mean doesn’t every starting pitcher in baseball do this to this team?

Someone of his caliber should reach each of those well before this season is over. It’s not necessarily a fait accompli for Miggy, since he also has to stay healthy.

Like I said earlier, every opposing pitcher is a Cy Young guy according to Tigers TV state media ministry of propaganda.

We keep hearing it can't get any worse, and then it does.   2 hits today, 0 hard hit balls, 12 more Ks and of course, only 1 walk.

How long until something changes?  Not one player is hitting. Candy is the highest OPS at .715, that is barely above league average.  This is an all time low for hitting, and Avila is to blame.

Castellanos another HR today, now has 8, hitting .314 with 18 RBI.   JD is hitting .361,  9 HR, 28 RBI.  Those two have over 60% of the runs knocked in of the ENTIRE tigers roster.

yes, but castellanos didnt want to play first base.  we cant have a guy like that on our team ruining chemistry!

the real travesty is he's not blocking anyone!  5 years into the rebuild and cant find a first baseman.
