Yeah I would have to agree that Jeimer Candelario and Willi Castro are the biggest disappointments this year... not because they're terrible players, they're not. But I too was hoping they would sustain their success from last year and even build on it a little bit...

Hasn't happened.

Candy for me. I didn't expect much from Castro. But I thought Candy turned the corner as a second-tier started. You know the kinda guy you hit sixth. Now he's a future non-tender candidate.

What concerns me about Jeimer is that his defense is suffering on both range and glove. It's OK for him to be a 97 wRC+ hitter if his defense is above average like it was through last year, but he can't sustain much of a career if he ends up hitting 97 wRC+ while fielding like ****.

If Bauer did it the first time, why did she go back then?     It is a fair question.

I'm sure Rolling Stone magazine can get to the bottom of this with a well-researched, we'll-fact checked and completely truthful article.

You got a breakdown of when he did what that the rest of us haven't seen?

The Tigers are 30-22 in their past 52 games, nearly a third of the season. That's a 93-win pace.

The next 23 games are against teams (TEX 6; MIN 11; KCR 3; BAL 4) who all have a worse overall season record than the Tigers have. Not just worse since May 8—worse for the whole season. (Because you asked in your head, those four teams are playing .341 ball combined since that date, versus the Tigers' .577.)

We almost certainly won't finish at or better than .500, but we have at least a puncher's chance to touch .500 sometime this month.

Between this and the emergence of the prospects, this is the happiest I have been as a Tiger fan in years.

and Candelario and Grossman have had crappy Junes (though Grossman has continued to walk). They got lucky with Peralta, and I'm not sure Haase is an 800 OPS guy long term. Cabrera has been a useful hitter since mid May but can he sustain it? SS is still iffy.  OTOH, if Manning gets control of his off-speed and Turnbull is back the week after the ASG they have starting pitching to burn even with Mize and Skubal on limits.

yeah - should be fun.

Me also and the best thing is the front office can no longer sell us about the virtue of being patient. It's time to put the pedal to the metal and their feet to the fire. I am counting on Hinch to do just that. And us !!!

Seems to me that the prudent thing for everybody would be to wait for the facts to be aired in a public trial, and for the process to work it's way out.

I'm not sure MLB can kept Bauer suspended based on the typical pace of the police and the courts. The league is going to have to find some method of making a more rapid assessment at least unless there is a criminal charge filed soon - which I don't think has happened...yet.

I would like to see some way to let the legal process play out without the on-field distraction of Bauer pitching.  If the sticking point comes down to paying Bauer's contract while charges are contemplated and he is kept off the field, I hope that is what happens.

PaleHose just DFA Adam Eaton. He had a disastrous May (158 BA) but had been trending up a bit the last week or so, 6 for last 24. Sox on the hook for $7 million.

He’s got a local connection. He’s married to a pretty good softball player who was part of the legendary Cabrini team in the late aughts and lives in Brighton.

He only 32. I guess some guys are toast at that point. His K rate is up for sure.

Other than being older, he's sorta the same deal as Mazara - never got on track last season with a new team and then no return to 2019 this season.

With Short handling SS and Goodrum ready to be reinstated to playing duty, maybe its time for CastroW to go down to Toledo and work on his game?

Yeah - I'd like to see Cabrera back at 1st base more so Schoop can play 2B and that would leave W Castro out. We all love Schoop but he really has a ways to go at saving bad throws.

Regarding the Tiger television broadcast color commentators, I am finding it more and more difficult to watch the games with the sound on, because except for Kirk Gibson, the color guys are horrible.  Morris, Monroe, and Petry just never shut up.  They babble endlessly, "analyzing" the situation with every freaking pitch.  Are they paid by the word?

A good color man should weigh in when the situation is such that a little analysis or insight may be interesting or illuminating or both.  But the continuous blather that these guys emit to pollute the broadcasts rarely comes close to meeting that standard.

And don't get me started about Jim "the art of pitching " / "late movement" / "buggywhip" / "yellowhammer" Price.

Shut the F up!
