Pistons only have a 2.5 game lead on the Magic so with them trading Vucevic and Fournier things could get interesting.  Hopefully the Pistons can hold them off and stay in the bottom 3.

Joseph only gets $2.4M next year after Pistons decline option, so switching out him for Wright gives them another $6M for Weaver to play with.

In the 2016-17 season Toronto had 4 PG's on their roster.  Lowry, Delon Wright, Cory Joseph, and Fred Vanvleet.  FVV couldn't get any run and was the 4th PG.

It wont put them under the cap enough to give them more money.  They will still get the MLE to use.

What an awful trade.

Houston should've just kept Lavert and Allen.

They definitely have their work cut out for them cause Minnesota and Houston are openly tanking and they have every incentive to based off of the fact they both lose their 1st round pick if its not in the top 4 I believe.

Of course the players on the court aren't going to throw games but Im sure management has instructed the coaches of what to do. ie rest what little good players they have left more or lower their minutes.

I don't get that sense with the Pistons, yeah they have traded away some "talent" but from a player rotation standpoint  feel like they are doing everything they can to win but they're just not good enough.

I think they finish 4th behind Minnesota, Houston, and Orlando.

That means a 12.5% shot at #1.  A 2.2% shot at #8 and their best slot according to % is #6 at 25.7%.

the pistons picking #6 in a five player draft is the most likely outcome ever in the history of outcomes.

topped only by the redwings dropping at least two spots in every lottery.

bulls get much better today but still dont have a point guard.

what is going on in houston?

orlando now the worst team in the league.

surprised they couldnt deal ellington for at least a second round pick.

is this lottery the most important event for the pistons in the last decade?  i mean, if they end with another project power forward at #8, are we doomed to be the sacramento kings of the midwest for the next decade?

jerami grant is a nice story, but a taller jerry stackhouse aint leading you to the promised land.

Drummond barely brings back a 2nd round pick last year.  Orlando gets two firsts for Vucevic.

i wonder if that will elicit a text from andre?

I assume they will use the full MLE and not have room to do that.

McGruder will possibly be moved for salary. He has $5M due next year but none of it is guaranteed if he is cut by July uhhh I don't remember the date, middle of the month sometime.

Theory is a team needing some extra space to sign a free agent will trade salary plus a dreary pick for McGruder, cut him and get his cap space for the free agent.

Vucevic is light years better than Drummond so this shouldn't be a surprise to anybody but Andre.

The Wright trade makes sense. They clear room for the young guys with Hayes returning, get a little draft capital and create a little more cap flexibility for next season.

Not surprised that there was no market for Ellington. Redick barely netted a 2nd, Fournier only two 2nds. Teams could pick up better players than Ellington off the waiver wire even. It seemed like a pretty lean deadline for sellers. I guess it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to have him here to mentor Bey etc.

The tank is going to be rough. The Pistons are the best of the 4 teams at the bottom so finishing 4th appears more than likely and a probable drop to 6th because... Pistons. If they beat up on the Wizards, they could be right where they were last year finishing 5th. All this tanking for nothing it appears.

If you watched Reddick play at all this year you know why he was moved for a 2nd.  He is shooting 36% from three, not even league average.  NO needs shooting more than anything and they traded him, which should tell you something.

Fournier was traded for two 2nds because Orlando didn't want salary back.  Boston had the TPE to use and nobody else did, so Boston had no incentive to give up more.

And I'm glad you are finally coming around on Vuc being better than Andre.
