I’m on the Staff Super Bowl train. I hope he wins three and goes to the Hall of Fame.

same

Wont' happen though lol.  After a few games of his locking onto 1 WR and happy feet the fans in LA will turn on him.  Just a gut feeling I hope I'm wrong.

I wish the Lions would trade goff and really really really rebuild.

Yeah I would prefer a Jimmy Johnson style rebuild...I just dont see how this team with this defensive roster and O Line is any good.

Yes, this is a great idea. The Lions should sign Herschel Walker and then trade him for three firsts and three seconds. Why didn't Holmes think of this?

i hope he wins multiple super bowls, then comes back to detroit as an old man and "mentors" whatever rookie qb the lions have then.

Stafford's success or failure in LA has a good chance to be a more interesting story for Lions' fans next season than the Lions will be.

I'll be interested to see how the Lions respond this year.  If they get a couple of early wins I could see them playing better than expected.

My feeling is that the team last year just quit on Patricia so it's hard to tell what the Lions really have.

Also Watt seems like a perfect player for Dan Campbell.  It's not going to happen because Watt is going to go to a contender.  Would love to see him on the Browns.

Yeah, I’d like to see that adjusted for distance.

Goff's air yards in 2020 was pretty bad.  I think that would support the hypothesis.  His YAC was pretty good though so I guess that accuracy did help somewhat on those dinks and dunks.

Something that was interesting is that Stafford's intended air yards per attempt was super high last year in his 8 games so I guess the Lions were actually airing the ball out last year too.

That works!

It does have 2018 if you look at individual stats. IE: Goff's 2018 In Air Yards per pass attempt was 8.7, and Completed Air Yards per Completion were 7.1, a big jump from 2019-20. Which is what I thought was an issue after losing too many offensive pieces in 2019-20.

If Wentz can get a 1st rounder, surely Goff could. Essentially the Lions got three 1st round picks for Stafford.

And this is what I hate most about sports journalism today. This was wrong. Just wrong. Is there any accountability? Nope. Just get to hide behind well that's what sources told me.

It’s not that she was wrong. She was a tool. Some unnamed source was using her to spread false information to advance his team’s interests.

But she knows she’s being used and doesn’t care. It gets her tweets clicked and her stories read

Just assume that every journalist is doing this all the time.

Yes.  This deal is likely to fetch the eagles a first rounder.

would you trade goff for a 3rd round pick and a conditional 2nd that might be a first if goff plays 75% of the teams games over the next two years?

given wentz's long injury history, the chances he meets that goal arent spectacular.

good on the eagles for finding a team desperate enough to give them anything, let alone something that might be of value.

if the colts could have had stafford for two firsts and instead they did this?  ouch.

are we now so sure goff could get a first rounder?

i doubt it.

Goff is younger, better injury history, better contract, and doesn't have as much baggage as Wentz. I could see a late 1st in lieu of multiple picks that the Eagles got. In any event, the Rams didn't have to pay 1st round picks to make Goff go away. He has value and decent value. He's probably worth at worst one 2nd round pick.

I don't think they should trade Goff, even for a first round pick in this year's draft. But Wentz's fall has been far more dramatic than Goff's. Wentz was arguably the worst QB in the NFL last season, and has had a terrible injury history. He got a meager trade return, but is a much bigger risk than Goff.
