I suspect we won't be seeing Paredes and Candelario as teammates for too long.  Especially if Torkelson shows acumen at 3B.

Assuming Torkelson isn't the first 1/1 in history to fail to ever get a hit against professional pitching......🤕

For the Tigers that would be the equivalent of '1st world problems'

Skubal, Manning, W. Castro, Paredes and Greene are going to save Al's bacon.

Greene?  i hope that bacon is frozen because Greene isnt going to be contributing in the major leagues for a long, long time.

Would also be nice if Reyes could add to his OPS this season.

There is certainly a lot of room for improvement.  Reyes has had an absurdly low barrels pct...he did have as many barrels (6) in 157 events last year.as he did in his previous 382 events...so maybe there's some hope that he will square up more.

His launch angle was up in 2020, and his HR/FB% was up to almost 10% in 2020 as well.

Hes only 26 and is a tall/lanky guy, so it would seem that he has potential to develop some power.  A modest improvement to achieve modest power would help fill a hole.

Every year, Reyes is going to find his power.  I think this is the year he settles into the fourth outfielder role.

if he's gonna stick, it would be as a decent semi-regular guy.  The good news is that he only needs to go from zero to below average power to be a decent player overall.

He just seems like a really boring player to me if you have a developing team.  He doesn't get on base, doesn't hit for power, is not a plus fielder.  There is not much to get excited about.

hope so.  i dont expect it will happen that fast.  he barely slugged .340 at low a ball last year.  expecting him to contribute at the major league level two years after that when he's only 20 is pretty optimistic.

i dont expect him to start to make an impact until he's 22 or 23.  and that's me being really optimistic.

To be fair, it was 2019 that he was in low A ball and right after he was drafted.  He did get a reasonable amount of experience last year in the intersquads and at the alternate sight and performed above expectations.  It will be interesting to see how he does this season in the minors.  The best of the best come up around age 20-21.  It's time we had one of those 🤪

He will be up next year. When he'll be productive may be another year or two after. Long, long time may be a bit overstated though.

Yeah - Victor hasn't even hit 750 MLB ABs yet. Didn't we used to say you knew what you had at 1500?

One or two years after next year would be 2023 or 2024 which is what Buddah predicted.

Dont you and Buddha agree?  You are saying he will be productive a year or two after 22 (23-24), and Buddha said that he wouldnt make an impact until 22-23, optimistically.

Sounds pretty similar.

Yeah - I quoted the wrong post. This was supposed to be back to Lee about Reyes.

Does anybody else think Victor Reyes will start the year in AAA to make room for Badoo ? I don't think we can pass on bas a** Badoo who looks real good. it's tough for Victor but he is a 4th outfielder and someone went down for him in 2018 so he cn return the favor

Baddoo seems to be pretty much a lock.  Yes, I could see Reyes starting the year in Toledo with Mazara, Jones and Grossman starting and Baddoo and Goodrum backing up.  That would allow them to bring an infielder such as Paredes or Garcia north.

Possible; some have said they cannot carry 5 OFs

JaCoby has not played infield for 4 years, and none of the other 4 have played anywhere else

but they can,  if Niko and H Castro cover the platoon at 1b with Miggy and then back up 2nd, 3rd and SS

that means no Paredes, Nunez or G Garcia

I don't think Harold is on this team. I think they are going with Paredes and Goodrum as back up infielders.
