  1. Andrew Miller and Devon Travis immediately came to my mind, as did Collin Mahoney for some strange reason. At any rate, since 2010, the Tigers have drafted only a handful of ACC guys within the first 10 rounds of the draft. Tony Plagman (9th round, 2010) out of Georgia Tech, Buck Farmer (5th round, 2013) out of Georgia Tech, and Artie Lewicki (8th round, 2014) out of Virginia. The Tigers did draft Jeff Thompson in the third round of the 2013 draft from Louisville, but I'm not sure if they had moved to the ACC by that time or not.
  2. RIP Roger. I always enjoyed reading your posts and seeing your pictures from Lakeland. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten. My condolences to family and friends.
  3. Greg Milhorn, the Tigers' 30th-round pick, was a kid I actually saw. He's 91-92 and tops out at 94 with a breaking ball. He'll either go to San Jacinto JC or Arkansas, and he'll likely go both ways in college.
  4. Greg Smith has been Pittsburgh's scouting director for the last few years.

    Casey Crosby?

Different guy. Player Bio: Ryan Perry - HurricaneSports.com - The University of Miami Official Athletic Site
  6. FWIW, Gretzky's son, Trevor, is one of the top prep prospects in California for next year's baseball draft.
  7. He's been topping out at 92-93 with late life on his fastball, and his cutter has really developed nicely this summer. He also has a curve and a change that need some work, and he has worked hard on getting in better physical condition.
  8. I'd be surprised if the Tigers did anything big with Ficociello, although everyone that I've talked to is in wait-and-see mode right now. I could see the Tigers going after Chris Joyce (dominant summer), or revisit their talks with Brian Dupra and Collin Kuhn to see if deals can be made there.
  9. IIRC, Cole and the Yankees had talked some over the summer, but in the end, it wasn't about money as much as Cole wanting to go to school.
  10. Once. He was the Yankees' first-round pick in 2008 out of high school.
  11. Nope. He told me the same thing when I spoke with him on Tuesday.
  12. The Tigers end the draft by taking Jake Ross, LHP, Wor-Wic CC (Md.)
  13. The Tigers take Tyson Kendrick, C, Tabor College (Kan.) in round 49.
