  1. Not sure why they didn't just go with Spiders, other than it doesn't end in "dians."
  2. Alex Nedeljkovic talks to the media after trade to Detroit. Turns out he's lived in the metro area for the last 10 years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mW13-UFVd3o
  3. Sounds like he wants to be here as much as we want him to be here.
  4. Right, otherwise you end up drafting Matt Anderson 1-1.
  5. Holy ****, did this really happen?
  6. Moeller and Carr were both HCs during Anderson's tenure, too. Having nothing to say is never a reason to stop asking questions for news orgs who are interested in a story.
  7. So you're telling me Mantha had one great game and a dozen crap to mediocre ones after that? Who could have expected that?
  8. Is that you, Foxy?
  9. Hasn't the conventional wisdom on Stafford always been that he's a QB who needs a strong, talented cast around him to succeed? And if that CW is inaccurate, why did the Lions have so little success during Stafford's time here?
  10. The Lions basically bought a future 1st round pick for the cost of one year of Goff, which seems to me to be bordering on felonious. If Goff pulls a Breeze, it could be as close to a Herschel Walker deal as any team could hope for, and if he isn't that guy, they can dump him for whatever after next season. I don't see the downside here. I'm with those who'd like to see the Lions trade out of the 7th pick to acquire more draft capital, and focus on rebuilding the defense.
  11. Right, and that's magnified even more when you factor in Stafford's injury history the last few years.
  12. I wouldn't be opposed to this at all if Holmes and Campbell don't love what's available at 7. Bring in a cheap retread for 2021, lose a ***load of games, and get your QB in the 2022 draft.
  13. I think this is exactly why the Lions have set things up this way: to protect against bad press. It's why the Lions do anything, and it's stupid. If it's Sheila, then she's just as bad as her Daddy, and if it's Spielman, just make him GM or Director of Player Personnel or something. If it's Rod Wood, they're doomed. But if it really is Holmes, just say so, because that's what the GM title denotes. I hate when teams try to act clever like this, because it usually means they're hiding something. Like I said, I hope this works, but this setup doesn't give my confidence that it will.
  14. On the one hand, I like that Holmes was non-committal about Stafford. On the other hand, I don't like that Holmes doesn't have final say on personnel decisions. This is a very Lions-esqe chain of command, and is likely why they hired a guy with zero experience. I hope it works out, but I'm skeptical that it will. Rod Wood refusing to say who has final say on personnel moves -- only repeating that they would be "collaborative" -- is disturbing. What happens when there is a disagreement that can't be worked out? Someone is going to make the ultimate decision. Who is "someone?" We know it's not Holmes.
  15. Yeah, I could've been more clear. I would be far more forgiving of Alter had he not tried to end Campbell, though.
  16. Don't most decent-sized companies do social media background checks as part of the hiring process, and hasn't that been SOP for years now? How the **** did this guy clear that hurdle?
  17. I like Valenti, but I can see how others wouldn't.
  18. The thing I remember most about Incaviglia was the Tigers organist playing "In A Gadda Da Vida" as his walk-up music.
  19. Good. They needed Andre gone to improve.
