Damn JBK. Those mountains. Where was that? And those photos are all good. Those high clouds make for the best sunsets!

The mountains were in Hawaii on our honeymoon we took one of those helicopter rides around the island.  I have a bunch of pics from it, but that one is by far the best.

I have a bunch of sunset pics like that from our boat while on our fishing trip....late at night, been on the lake all day, drunk....every once in awhile I get a good one like the ones above.

I've been playing with my camera again lately, even ordered a new lens that should be here next week.

I typically end up taking a lot of pictures of my girls with various backgrounds from our adventures. This one was totally impromptu,  just hanging on the back deck the other day....one of my recent favorites.

No filters....just converted the raw image to black and white. With the sun setting directly behind them, I didn't need to do anything.

This is of course one of my favorite places in the world, the great Horseshoe Bend in Arizona. I got lucky coming out here in May. There was maybe 10 people there, where it's usually full of people. The great thing about this location is that the sun sets right behind it, as you can see. I try to go there once a year-ish.

I had to edit the **** out of this photo as the dynamic range was really high. And I really wanted that center stack to really stand out against its background. I did this but increasing the contrast in light, texture, and color, and I think it works pretty well. You lose so much of that in camera but with modern cameras/software it's becoming a lot easier to bring out all of that color and light in post.

I had to shrink this photo in half to post it here but if you click on it you can still see quite a bit of detail. You can even see some little campers down at the bottom.

These are only phone photos, but they are a couple of my favorites.

The first one is in Rocky Mountain National Park.  The second one is in La Jolla, CA

incredible how still the water is. Catching that sky mirrored is very cool.

JBH - I don't think you pics loaded.

Is anyone else seeing them?

Sigh. I can only assume they got pasted as links, even though (I'm pretty sure) I did "copy image" and then paste. WEAK. (the links definitely wouldn't work from outside of my home network.)

I'll try again later.

If it's already online, copy the image address and paste it, not the image itself. If that doesn't work, or if it's not online already, click the paperclip icon to attach it.

I regret letting go of my Cannon a few years ago when we began downsizing. It was only a digital Rebel and it felt big and clunky when I took it on trips. Now that it’s looking like I’ll have a bit more spare time on my hands....
