Okudah is a very good player, and maybe by the end of the season he will have made up for the loss of Slay.

Sounds like a great kid and will probably be a great player but just so underwhelming after getting my hopes up of possibly getting multiple 1st round picks.  Also CB's usually take a little longer to transition in the NFL so there's a good chance he doesn't make an immediate impact next year.   Oh well.

Disappointed in no trade down but fully expected. There's nobody worth trading up for at 3.

I like Okudah though.

That's exactly what I said. No trade sucks!

Can't trade if no one wants the pick.

The Bengals have a longer playoff win drought than the Lions.

If you had told me in 1992 that there'd be a global pandemic that killed tens of thousands sooner than there'd be another Lions playoff victory ... I already would have believed you.

Seriously. Why would Miami trade up if they have their choice of QB at 5. I never believed the nonsense that they might trade up for a OT.

As usual things just didn't fall in the Lions favor.   Tua and Herbert didn't create enough separation among the two to warrant a team trading up for one of them, the OTs are all bunched together so teams wanting one of them like the Dolphins aren't going to risk giving up too much when they can just take the highest available one if the Giants go that route.

Trading back was Quinn's best chance to save his job. He has too many weaknesses on the roster to come back from nine wins in two seasons. And drafting Okudah is a wash.

He's going to have to nail his second and third round picks, or he's gone.

The Chargers and Jacksonville won't have their choice of QBs though.

The thought would be to prevent a team like the Chargers from trading up much like the Bears did but I don't think they or the Chargers valued Tua.

I always assumed -- and still do -- that the NFL will go defunct before the Lions win a Super Bowl.

And Miami will pick Tua and he'll go to the HOF.

There was a time when the Saints were a laughing stock and their fans invented wearing paper bags over their head. Just need to stumble into the right QB/Coach combo.

I honestly fear that as well.  Especially with concussions becoming such a big thing that everyone worries about...

The Chargers never had talks with the Lions if rumors are to be believed and Quinn probably didn't drop down to 9.

Don't get me wrong, I'm disappointed in no trade down but I knew it wasn't going to happen. The Tua injury basically clinched that, no separation between these prospects.

Even with his job on the line, Quinn could do no better than to tread water.
