Yikes. Going to Cleveland was a train-wreck decision for Beilein.

Yeah, especially considering how he had to have had some pretty good capital built up in Ann Arbor and being a program other than football there probably isn't a bad gig.

Cavs management didn't do him any favors keeping the vets around.  You hire Beilein you need to instantly ship out Thompson and Love.

Neat new feature on Basketball Reference.  Every Game-winning buzzer-beater since 1946.

Quote

Below is a list of every game-winning shot in NBA/BAA history that was taken with the shooter's team tied or trailing and left no time on the clock after it went through. For more background on the data and methods, please see this blog post.

772 shots in all.  If a player has multiple shots on this list, it will tell you how many he has to that date.  It even tells you who assisted the shot if someone did.

Shocking?  The three best players from their team last year are gone or injured.  I'm shocked they are only down 66%.

Betonline has O/U win projections up right now.  Pistons are at 25.5.

Cleveland, GSW, Minnesota, and the Knicks are the only teams with a lower total.  Atlanta and Charlotte are also 25.5.  Even Chicago is higher at 28.5.

But the Cavs have Dre now, so surely that will change. That guy's a winner...I mean, look at his stats! That must mean something...

Or not.

I'm actually a very happy ex.  That's someone else's hot mess to deal with now.  Doesn't mean I won't have a good chuckle at his new partner's expense though.

It seemed like an odd coupling from the start.

Just goes to show that smart people can make dumb decisions.
