Oh FFS, Susan... what possible "votes" are being alienated in this largely preordained process?

Still amazed at people who think the GOP is a reasonable party that will work with you if you're nice to them.

Just saw the clip of Roberts calling Trump "a man of his word".  What a joke.  They're all clowns.  I don't even know why I am following this ****.

Edit: I think it was someone else who said it. I can't find the clip now.  Sorry!

Unreal.   So this will all be decided by senators' personal comfort?   LMFAO

Seriously? If Roberts called Trump 'a man of his word' it's just one more nail in the Republic's coffin. I said when Citizen's United was decided that the nation may have passed a tipping point where there would no longer be any viable way back to public democratic rule. I have seen nothing since then to change my mind about that. Lincoln once told us that it was no certainty that a republic 'of the people, by the people and for the people' could long endure. He appears to have been correct but he misapprehended where the ultimate battlefield would be. In the end it won't be war that has done us in, it will have been greed, apathy, and the society's ethical failure to value truth.

Actually, I think it must have been someone else who said it since nobody else is talking about it.  Sorry!

Yeah that seemed strange to me as John Roberts seems to be as professional and as straight as they come. I couldn't even see him offering up an opinion on the president. I'm guessing it has Russian origins.

Imagine though if this floated out about Obama. The narrative from trumpers would be that the trial is rigged by the left wing judges.

So this is the hill they are willing to die on?

Republicans have long gone against the will of the people on issues like universal background checks for firearms, which some 90% of Americans favor yet Republicans fight at every turn. So they obviously don't care who dies on what hill.

As long as they maintain their grip on power...

**** everyone else...

That needs to change (starting with their grip on power).

It would be hilarious if Senators Sanders, Warren, Klobuchar, Harris, Booker all approved and pushed the move to make the trade to put the Bidens on the stand in exchange for Bolton.   I hope they stand in solidarity against it though.

To clarify, it was Cippilone who in his opening statement said Trump is a "man of his word."

The best part is how Cippilone paused for the laugh afterward, to no avail. He must have seen Dennis Miller do that same thing.

He probably was waiting for applause...

Even the Republican Senators didn't fall for that gambit...

Trump confesses for the 23rd time, but GOP demands at least 35 confessions before they remove him
