What's your point?  Neither group is good.

My point is it’s really stupid to say no one from this roster will be on the next playoff roster. Nobody knows anything.

Tigers could win it all in three years with half these dudes. Baseball is weird.

And I might become the next Tigers manager.

I was thinking of you in the analytics department, but  if I win a couple Billion in the Lotto and Chris will sell to me - I guess you can be manager and we'll put Biggs at analytics.

1st chore for Biggs will be to determine if Lloyd is really teaching these guys how to hit'em where they ain't:

Last 28 days

Greiner    .457BABIP/.818OPS

VictoryReyes  .415BABIP/.869OPS

I volunteer to be the pitching coach but only if you promise to keep Lloyd as hitting instructor.

Logically, the possible and the probable are not identical concepts. Both do not have the same load bearing potential.

It’s possible that some of the players on this team could be on a championship team when they are surrounded by far better players.  Getting the “far better players“ is the hard part. Over a period of three years?

This is a good place for the scientific method to kick in. Make a hypothesis and in three years see how it works out.

funny thing is, so many thing are happening in the game that who knows what conventional wisdoms may get overturned? Not likely to be Reyes or Greiner, but playing against a bunch of teams dedicated to shifting a hitter with good opposite field skill might will put up a BaBip sometime soon that would have been thought impossible in the past - of course you would *assume* teams would stop shifting against a guy who become good at beating it, but who really knows what the various teams cook into their assumptions.

Will G2 be able to discuss spin rates with you and offer advice?

They could win it all with Mize + Manning killing it + a couple of others in supporting roles...but half of them?  No way.

If we only had a 2020 "best shape of his career" thread....

Miguel Cabrera’s winter plans: Fix knee, say adios to arepas

Quote

Cabrera hasn’t budged from his strong opposition to undergoing surgery. But he said he plans to meet with three specialists this winter to develop a treatment plan. His goal is to come to spring training in better shape, shedding extra pounds to put less pressure on his knee.

“No more arepas!" he said, referring to the corn pancakes popular in his native Venezuela. “I’m going to try to be 100 percent. If I come in stronger and in better shape too, I think I will be able to do a little bit more.”

Well they have to write the "Zimm found his slider in spring training" story first.

Zimm has neck issue from whipping his head around quickly to track those 400 ft bombs off of his slider.

With this we should maybe get an Indian double play duo?

I was surprised to see that Norris was second on the team in innings pitched. Him with Boyd and Turnbull are the best of 2019 and a good start to a 2020 Rotation.

yeah - Yet tonight Morris said he can't see Norris throwing 200 innings in a season, go figure. Norris did fine this season, considering the horrible defensive play behind all the Tiger pitchers and the fact that he was still working on his mechanics almost all year. 12 appearances with 0 or 1 run - some of those were the short starts in Aug/Sep but even in 3 IP 0-1 run is fine. They won 9 of his starts, which is second to 11 for Boyd.

It is thoroughly depressing to be a Tiger fan, this may be the darkest moment. Not saying it can’t get darker yet, because it sure can. But this is as low as it’s been thus far.

More than 100 losses. The GD freaking Twins have won the division and celebrated in the visiting clubhouse.

No immediate help in sight, question marks on the roster, coaching staff, in the GM office and Ownership.

woof.

Who's looking for a job?

The ideal candidate is a "self-starter" and a "team player" who can "work evenings, weekends and holidays as dictated by the baseball calendar".

Come on, Biggs, step up, we need you now more than ever.

Wow, he'd be a shoe in when he lists MTS screen names as references.

Job appears sort of senior in nature... wonder if someone left or if it's additonal staff?

Probably pays $30K.
