Pretty sure I read a story that Topps was going to add felt over Pierce's sideburns, but it was nipped due to budgetary concerns.

Remember him?

Jack Pierce

He was the final fruit of the Mike Kilkenny era.

I just told my son that "I have tickets to the Yankee game" in case he wanted them

Pierce had a solid showing in his limited time.  A bit of power, could draw a walk.  Surprised he never resurfaced in the majors with someone.

It is hard to feel optimistic about this series but there’s times when the team rises to the occasion and surprises me in such circumstances. Hopefully I haven’t hexed the possibility of that happening by mentioning it.

I almost posted on Pierce last week. In 1975 in the midst of a long losing streak my family went to a game. Pierce dropped a simple pop up that went right to him. I recall having a reaction that I was growing tired of Detroit playing so poorly. My post was going to reflect on how I am starting to feel the same way with these current Tigers

He actually was one of their better hitters for the limited playing time. Tells more about how putrid the 75'  hitting team was.

I think it might be safe to say that the Edwin Jackson Era is over.

Lloyd ruins everything.

why didn't they challenge?  If all we are doing is accumulating stats...you'd think a Miggy Hr would matter.

I know every team looks good against us but it's crazy to see how impressive this Yankees offense is despite not having Judge, Voit or Stanton in it.

And yet our 4A offense is sticking close to them.

Nice inning. Tie 6-6.

Tonto, since they’ve scored six runs I realize my work here is done. Time to saddle up and leave.

After outscoring their opponents 38-1 the past two games Houston just gave up a 7 spot in the first inning.

The Lumbering Lloyds definitely have their hitting shoes on tonight.
