8/15 @1:10 Seattle Mariners vs Detroit Tigers

Recommended Posts

Game 118 in 2013.

The Tigers fell to 31-87 after a 7-3 loss in Arlington, Texas.  The Rangers put up a pair of 3s in the first two innings against Tiger starter Mike Maroth and never looked back.  2B Michael Young was 3 for 4 with a double and gold glove DH Rafael Palmiero went 2 for 4 with a triple and 3 run home run.  RA Dickey scattered 7 hits and 2 walks over 6 innings to keep the visiting Tigers in check.  Carlos Pena jacked a solo dong.  The game was played in a crisp 2 hours and 39 minutes.

Pretty sure I thought Lewis was going to be a good one.  Pretty sure I was wrong about that.

The Tigers went 4-8 vs Oakland that season.  It could be that the baserunner was putting forth effort sufficient to the talent level of his opponent.

Based on my completely made up analysis, the Coliseum took away 4 HR from the Tigers that season, and the Tigers would have finished 6-6 with those HR.

I believe that should be "husky" rather than "fat".

I'm old enough to remember when Miggy would have 8 homers and 47rbis in mid May not mid August.
