Jim Bouton (ASG 1963) is dead. Instead of a moment of silence, are we supposed to pop some beanies and go beaver shooting as a tribute to him?

I believe it was greenies. Pop some greenies. He said everybody on the '68 Tigers used them.

I've read that several times and there are parts of it that I cannot recall upon someone else mentioning.  I know the general theme of greenies going on, but I forgot who he mentioned as participants.

From 1963-1982 the AL won once....the '71 game at Tiger Stadium.

Im going to buy a patch of Big League Chew and take a big chaw just like I did in little League. He did have a great idea there but not sure if Bouton actually invented it.

"He, along with Portland Mavericks teammate Rob Nelson, helped invent Big League Chew bubblegum, which they sold to Wrigley and which you can still buy today."

He had to sue to get paid, but yeah, he is considered an inventor of Big League Chew.

Really his accomplishments of the field are as impressive as what he accomplished on the field.
