On a serious note.... when some of the bands I follow start making their way through here at venues like St. Andrews, Blind Pig, Magestic, Royal Oak, El Club, etc. I"m buying tickets.  Even if I don't go I'm buying tickets.  They're usually under $30 anyway so that's nothing...

Those places should even just hold an "event" to support them.  Just open up the room, charge $30, let people go in, play some music on the speakers, buy beers, etc.  A fundraiser of sorts.  There's so many people associated with those venues and the artists involved that are hurting.  The artists themselves are sort of ok, they can do online shows streaming, etc.  I've watched a few concerts from Red Rocks already.  But the support crews...

the bathrooms at St Andrews are far nicer than they should be.... nice to the point of being offensive.... like "What fancy **** is this?  Where am i? Is this all fake?  I want grit.  I want a guy shooting heroin in the stall... not some yuppie from Novi in his north face jacket... I'm not one of them am I?"

They did this at the Magic Stick (upstairs from the Majestic) a few years back. It used to be that the bathroom stall didn’t even have a door, and the sink only poured scalding hot water. Then they renovated it for the ill-fated, short lived foray into turning it into an electronic music venue. Now those bathrooms are super fancy snd it’s weird.

If I based it on people I talk to, Biden is getting 90% of the vote!

I think it is at the point that those who do support Trump are having a hard time defending him as a person and may not know enough about his policies to use that as a talking point to defend the position of voting for him.

We went on a fall up north drive a couple weeks ago.  "Gods country" and also "Trump land" while we saw plenty of Trump signs...I was really shocked at how many Biden signs we saw.

Good news, spouse is officially registered

A couple of sign observations. Definitely a mixed bag here depending on where you drive. James City County is fairly Red in the west. Williamsburg not surprising Blue. A mini road trip toward Richmond Saturday had lots of Trump signs along Rt 60. Biden dominated in Charles City County, considering the demographics (48% African American) not too surprising

I hear similar anecdotes from The Thumb, fwiw.... more visible support for Biden than for Clinton four years ago.

I was discussing this with a friend of mine the other day (who lives in a really conservative part of Michigan); to an extent, people don't realize just how bad Clinton did in the rural parts of the state, and how much of a reversion to the mean happened in the Governor/Senate race in 2018. To be clear, Whitmer/Stabenow still lost many counties in Rural MI, but they performed significantly better than Clinton did.

The conventional wisdom has been for a long time that he'd match his 2016 output in the rurals, but it may be a taller order than is given credit for.... and he cannot afford any slippage given where the suburbs are going.

I wouldn’t say I know that dude, but I know who he is. Our kids are around the same age and run in similar circles, so I see him all over town at various kid-related activities.

I was surprised that the latest viral ad had someone in it that I had met before...

This is entirely a thing I miss in DC suburbs.  We just don't do live music in this area like people I grew up with in Detroit still do.   Many of my buddies were in bands.   I can count on one hand the number of shows I've been to in the last 5 years.

Lots of stress noise out there.  Take two James Carville/Hunt or two Hacks on Tap podcasts and get a nap.

I did a sign tour and found a couple more Biden signs in my neighborhood. There are a couple Black Lives Matter signs. Trump signs are not common. I went just a little east into NE Warren and Trump is still strong there in the sign department.

Most recent forecast I have heard is late December for the Pfizer.  Looking like my husband and mother will qualify initially but not me.  But my primary issue has been keeping myself safe to keep them safe.   Safety practices will continue but a vaccine will give me some added peace of mind.
