If Biden is worried about white women voting for him because of the sexual assault allegations, Whitmer and her personal story as a survivor in his corner could be a real difference maker.

But really, if Biden goes with Whitmer it will be because he believes she can deliver Michigan.

Biden will have no problem getting white women to vote for him.  It's one sexual assault allegation versus dozens against Trump.  The problem is getting white men to vote for him.

One allegation that has thoroughly been debunked.

Kwame is no longer relevant but Sarah Palin, who ran for VP at the same time Kwame resigned as mayor, is relevant.

Did anyone say Palin was currently relevant?  I think she simply came up as part of the VP choice discussion.

I would hope Duggan isn't serious about Kwame. He needs to review his Numenorean history for a lesson in what can happen when you invite people like Kwame back into your kingdom.

DC seems to be suggesting as much. Palin apparently is the reason we have Trump. I think the move started well before Palin with the likes of Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh. I would also contend the likes of Glenn Beck had more to do with the Tea Party shift than Palin.

Would anyone really be shocked if 8 years from now Kwame is the Mayor of Detroit again?

I lived in Detroit until 2009 so I was there during the Kwame years. It seemed very much like the Trump era. Kwame had his 40% base that would support him no matter what and the 40% in the anti-Kwame camp. He did lose the primary in 2005 to Freeman Hendrix but managed to win the runoff. In 8 years he will be 20 years removed from being mayor. I think the Kwame generation will have moved on or out of the city much like the Coleman Young generation. Voter turnout in Detroit is always **** poor and like he Trump he has a passionate following all though limited. I think it would be a toss up but it wouldn't surprise me.

Unfortunately for Kwame, he wasn't a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice like Governor Hot Rod was....

Looks like the Death Star was actually built by Grand Moff Tarkin and not Director Krennic

Yes. I remember when people on here thought there would literally be riots in Detroit when Kwame was sentenced.

You guys overhype his impact in Detroit. He became a meme, he isn't some hyper influential guy now. And Duggan's interest is because his business buddies were the ones benefiting from Kwame's corruption.

It did for me. There was nothing John McCain could have done after that choice to make me take him seriously again.

Were you lined up to vote McCain before that?

I looked at him seriously - I hadn't consigned the entire GOP to my personal dustbin of history at that point. The fact that he had a serious  anti-money in politics history and the fact that I still think that is the single overriding issue that has to be addressed before any other kind of reform can happen meant he had a couple of things going for him in my book. But it didn't take McCain long to morph into what almost appeared to be a different person as a presidential candidate than he had been in the Senate. Plus I think you had to look at both candidates seriously because who knew what Obama was coming out of the gate?
