except it is.  trump won 3 battleground states by a total of 77k votes in order to win.

biden will win 4 states by a total of 60k or so votes to win.

this has been an extremely close electoral college election just like it was 4 years ago.  only this time the democrat won the battleground states by a whisker.

Biden won Michigan alone by 150k votes.

Right.  But change the 3 states. Instead of 70K votes in PA/MI/WI it goes to PA/GA/NV.  Right now the margin in those 3 states is 54K.   Winning those 3 would have given Trump 274 EC votes. So the argument is there that Biden did “worse” thanTrump in 2016 in that regard. At least so far.  Maybe AZ becomes close than NV so you could swap those out in the final totals.

this is an exact repeat of 2016 only this time the democrats are going to squeak by in the electoral college rather than the republicans.

Except dems won overall popular both times. I'm still wearing the same bloomers, so there's that

Now we're just cherry picking states. The three states referenced were Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. He's on track to win Pennsylvania by more than Trump did. Winning Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin wins the election. Nevada is a smaller state so the total difference isn't going to be impressive. Arizona and Georgia haven't been won by Democrats in decades. Not sure how picking off red states is doing worse. Biden didn't lose any Hillary states. In fact, he won some by larger margins such as Minnesota, Maine, and New Hampshire. Virginia and Colorado, both considered battlegrounds in 2016, weren't even battlegrounds this time. He was also only the 2nd Democrat to pick off NE-2.

Yes, although the way it has dragged out makes it look closer than it really is.  You are probably right that it is similar to 2016.

Who exactly is Tucker Carlson, this man who claims to be a news anchor? We probably oughtta find out.

We have no clue what Tucker Carlson actually thinks or even if he's capable of thinking. He hasn't told us. No one's made him tell us.

etc, etc.

We were dipping into that show as we watched the other networks last night.  He really is nuts.   He doesn't think Russia exists either.

I don't know, ****er, oops, I mean Tucker............Joe is a guy who has survived adversities that would probably crush most of us (loss of family in a car crash, and aneurysm that almost killed him,  loss of a grown son who probably would have had a shot at President himself one day, and there have been more - and he's always come out stronger and MORE humble.   You know what humility is, don't you ****er?, I mean Tucker?

Whenever Pennsylvania announces their next count (maybe between now and 8am) and he's up over 35 K it's going to start being called and I think they are going to call Nevada pretty soon too.      We may be minutes away.

A bit less than 7k to get there so that does seem in reach if the batch or results is big enough.

Oh, and one more thing ****er, I mean Tucker..............Joe Biden has never once claimed he was President or President-Elect or claimed victory..............that was your guy, and I know you are auditioning for a spot on his TV network, ****er............that time I really meant to say ****er.

I think there is something to the grouping of the blue wall states in that the demographics are fairly similar.

Your point remains, of course. I just don’t think it’s quite as clean of an analogy.
