It appears he is Nicholas no more and back to just Nick.

Good move.  That can add 40 points to a guy's batting average.

Going from the childish Nicholas to the adult Nick will add more to your power numbers than any ballpark could.

He'll go back to Nicholas when Cincinnati goes back to the Redstockings.

perhaps it says the worst team in baseball is the worst team in baseball for a reason?

I think it's an equal part of both statements, plus he and Comerica being mutually unfit for each other.

It's not like the Tigers gave up on Nick or anything,  if they gave up on him they would've traded him 2 seasons ago when they dumped everybody else.  I think they valued Nick but he really never showed any growth here defensively or offensively when he was here atleast the last few years.  I mean his OPS 4 years ago was higher than what is was when we traded him, so coupled with that and the fact that we had our DH for the next 4 years there wasn't a spot for him so they cut bait.    I think if we were in position to win and Cabrera wasn't going to be occupying the DH spot they would've kept Nick long term.

Nick looks pissed.  Must have photoshopped him when he was with the Tigers last season.

Looks like he needs to take a dump

His scoreboard photo at Comerica Park looked like he just burned a fattie...

I think his attitude about the Tigers regressed more than his offense.  Defensively, I think he improved from terrible to just bad.

I still don't get 4/64.  You don't pay a guy more, just because you have a s***** park that will flatter his stats.  You should be able to pay him less, for that reason.  If the Yankees want to sign a lefthanded hitter, they should be able to say, OK we will let you hit ridiculously cheap home runs to right field, but you are going to have to take a discount below market to get there.

It also doesn't make sense considering their log jam in the OF as it is.  Of course if it leads to a corresponding move like trading Senzel for Lindor or Seager than that would be different but as of now it seems like they would have been better off using that money elsewhere.

I think the Reds saw that the Brewers, Cardinals and Cubs either did nothing or lost players and got over anxious thinking adding one more bat might put them over and there was shiny Nick still on the shelf.

When will the NL finally adopt the DH?

Manfred said they won't discuss it till the next cba which is at the end of 2021, so atleast two seasons away.

He should change his name to Sputnik and declare that he did so because "I'm sending balls into orbit"...
