I don't think they have any chance of losing as many games as 2003.  There are too many bad teams this year.  They lost 106 games in 2002.  Maybe they can shoot for that.

Surgical futility is always preferable to mere ineptitude.

Maybe that's what this team needs.  A nice NSFW type of monologue from Smokes himself.

Hall of Famer Jack Morris was this comment about Miami starting CF Harold Ramirez:

”What does it say about Ramirez that he starts these games in CF, which is the most prominent position in the OF, and then Mattingly replaces him at the end of the game by moving him to LF?”

I don’t know, Hall of Famer Jack Morris, what the heck are you saying?  The LF is really the one who is getting his defense removed from the game.

This season sucks.

I know you need the players, but the coaching isn't helping. I'm not even talking about Ron.

Maybe they need to send Dave Clark to Toledo?  Or at least bench him for the rest of this game?

Agree. But I will say this for Anderson: Boyd, Norris, Turnbull and Greene all are pitching as well as they can. JJ is the only pitcher with any talent who is under-performing.

Dave Clark has pledged himself to Tank-A-Thon 2019.

So I’m outside my son’s school and take the only opportunity I have today — before I pick him up and go to lunch — to listen to this game and the first thing I hear is “Dave Clark is waving him home and oh...he’s out by 20 feet.“ In way I don’t blame him.  It’s almost better to risk something like that than to just strand the runner due to the ineptitude of the crappy batters at the bottom of the order.  Of course I’m just listening I’m not watching, so as far as I know it was a suicide mission.

That's because Anderson can't communicate with Mexicans.

they need to call up Alcantara or Willi until Mercer comes back. Beckham and RR cannot play SS.

What a huge bounce back by Boyd.

Keep running until you get tagged.

You know what, why not?  It ain’t likely that the Tigers get another hit in that situation.

It really was.

Heck, maybe they should let him hit, too.

These need to be adjusted for climate.  Just wait until the weather warms up.

Today is a warm day, and, 0 runs through 4, as per usual.

Boyd better throw a shutout to not take the loss

just read that Max leads all pitchers in WAR.

he is 2-5 and the Nats are 2-9 in games he starts.

(insert Jack Morris joke about winners who win here).
