4/11 @1:10 Cleveland Indians vs Detroit Tigers

Recommended Posts

Even if the pitching staff can end up with a team ERA of around 3 they"ll still be lucky to finish  with a .500 record.

And there's Hrbek trying to call the game while he's being interviewed.

I suppose someone should.

It's cold gais...and Cleveland hitters have warmer hands, they scout 'em that way...

Niko forces the error at second! The guy is our one man wrecking crew.

If we had a team full of Niko's we're pushing 100 wins for sure.

Ground ball Miggy strikes again.

ugh. he is way over 50% ground balls the last 2 years; needs to find some way to find some power

Oh, haven’t you heard? Miggy is doing this on purpose.

We’re playing checkers, Miggy’s playing poker.

The good news is that the Tigers are only down by a grand slam.

The bad news is that the Tigers gave up base running and hitting home runs for Lent.

Its amazing that they are 8-4 (soon to be 8-5) with as poor of hitting that they have.  It is very anemic thus far, with very limited power

Tigers do not threaten, do not score.

This will be an ongoing theme.

The Tigers rarely threaten,  but when they do they score even more rarely.  Hitting .181 with RISP (plus 0-5 today) and .160 with RISP and 2 outs.

How long does this super anemic hitting continue before changes are made (meaning, maybe shake up the lineup at the very least)?

Until the start of the 2020 season.  It is what it is.  This is what we are.

If I had to guess, it won't be shaken up. Nick and Christin will be back in the lineup and they'll ride it out and performance will come a little more in line with expectations.

Drop Harrison down to the bottom of the order, put Goodrum up at the top, at least he gets on base?  Although like John_Brian said, this is who they are, there is not much help to be had.

Yeah, I think the problem is more to do with the number of adequate hitters rather than where in the lineup they bat.

Well, the Tigers hung around by playing some good D and getting some key outs, but the bats were absolutely miserable again in the uninspiring 4-0 loss.

Still amazed that they 8-5 thus far.

Tomorrow's game postponed in Minnesota due to snow and cold. Rescheduled to a doubleheader on May 11th. Weather should be ok by Saturday.
