I take your point, although in actuality, Mikie would not have even been on a Leyland and DD team. Those teams were playoff contenders. No way Mikie Mahtook shows up on a playoff contender.

The only other big league team he has a ghost of a chance to play for is the Marlins.

There were a lot of scrubs on the Dombrowski teams.  Remember Neifi Perez?

Yes he saved Justin Verlander's first no hitter

Without the PEDs I'm not sure he would have been able to reach that ball in that 8th inning.

Yes, but Stars & Scrubs has a nicer ring to it than Half-Suck & Scrubs.

yeah you are right... I was just thinking if Jim and DD were still here and running this team as it is constructed today...

Then again... Jim and DD had their fare share of Josh Anderson, Timo Perez, Tuisossopo, etc.  So maybe a guy like Mahtook would have been around?

Hey now, at one point the 2017 tigers had a 45% chance at the playoffs, and that team included mahtook.

Looks a wee bit chilly there today.   I am guessing a crowd of about 2,500 in the house today

26 more batters like Martin and they won't need to worry.

Break into the game because there's a wave on Lake Erie. Stupid Comcast.

The flooding around the state border?  Morin Point?  Nice area.

Nice check swing for a strike by Ramirez. Did you hear the King of the Check Swing is going to be in the booth today? Yes, Mr. Inge.

Niko doing more Niko things today, playing RF, drew a leadoff walk and promptly stole second.  I like his game

Hicks has got to learn to lay off the slider low and outside, he had zero chance in that at bat, and the Tigers again do not get the runner in from third with less then two outs.

Inge : "If I sat on a fastball I'd end up swinging at a slider every time."   Wait a minute isn't that what you did do anyway?

I think someone mentioned this earlier, but the Mariners have hit 34 homeruns........and the Tigers have scored 33 total runs.  That is just plain crazy.

When was the last time the Tigers hit home runs at a comparable rate, given the offensive differences? The Fielder - Froot Loops years?

Martin hit that one a country mile.  He almost hit it up to the concourse out in RF, i don't recall seeing many balls up there.

Tigers bats are going to have to do something today, they are not off to a good start thus far with some ugly at bats.
