How selfish of Hirose to take advantage of what may be his once in a lifetime chance to prove himself in the NHL.  5 assist vs 0 assists might have cost the Wings a draft position or two, what was he thinking.

Bertuzzi with the ENG to go up 3-0.  If the score holds Howard and Bernier share the shutout as Bernier got hurt earlier and had to leave the game.

Wings win 4-0. I am glad the Rangers won too.

Larkin 1G 1A

Bertuzzi 1G 2A

AA  1G

Mantha 1A

Hirose 0G 0A - oh c'mon!

Seeing him driving forward low to the ice with his shoulders kind of hunched down like that reminded me of Federov.

The Mantha-Larkin-Bertuzzi line is pretty fun to watch right now

Mantha is a different player with those two.

I guess if there are going to be players who raise the game of the players they play with, there also have to be players who are the ones whose games are raised - ?

Among the Wings players tonight were:

- Jake Chelios

- Madison Bowey

- Dylan McIlrath

- Christopher Ehn

- Ryan Kuffner

- Matt Puempel

- Taro Hirose

- Martin Frk

Each of the above got at least 14 minutes of ice time, with the exception of Puempel who got 12:29. Chelios and Ehn both got 17 minutes.

i'm glad the wings' young players are playing well.

i also want them to get the #1 pick in the draft.

those two thoughts are not incompatible and it doesnt make me - or tater - any less of a wings fan.

I'd be fine with the Wings' losing the next 4 games and I can understand people being disappointed if the Wings finish 5th worst overall instead of 2nd worst overall. But I don't understand people being ANGRY about this or seeing the recent win streak as a major flaw of Holland and the organization. I mean, look at the roster the team is icing. If one didn't know the Wings' record the past 5 games, the roster is such you'd almost think it would be the target of an NHL investigation.

Tater is wanting them to bench the young players to try to finish last overall.

I have nothing positive to say about that.

Is Abdelkader jinxing them from the press box in this scenario?

Rangers won today so are 5 up on the Wings with the Wings having 4 games left. Given that the Wings' remaining schedule is against Boston, Pittsburgh (x) and Buffalo, I'd be surprised if the Wings got more than 4 points the rest of the way.

The one team outside the bottom 4 to worry about Buffalo, which is only 2 points ahead of Detroit, the Wings hold the tiebreaker, and the Sabres are 1-8-1 in their past 10.

The tank rolls on with Glendening sitting tonight, Turgeon called up on an emergency basis.  If they can pull out a win with this lineup it'll be awesome.

Fulcher was called up to back up Howard too.

his ineptitude cant be held back by a mere press box.

Bertuzzi picks the puck out of a scrum (Larkin doing good work down low too), passes back to Kronwall who sets up Mantha for his second one timer goal of the game!  1 second left in the period too, 2-0 at the first intermission!

So AA and Larkin have hit the 30 goal mark and Mantha has passed the 20 goal mark. All I want now is:

-  Larkin to get his 70th point, he is 1 pt away

- Bertuzzi to score his 20th, he is 1 goal away

- Hirose to score his 1st goal

Wings can collapse completely after that, that would be fine.
