Pistons trade Stanley Johnson for Thon Maker

Dwayne Casey has been most unimpressive with this team and its player development.

Some of it needs to be put on the organization too.  They need to start looking at the G-League to develop these kids.

Toronto in the past 2-3 years had developed a very deep bench, mostly made up of young prospects who were not highly regarded.  Most of them spent some significant time in the G-League playing for the Raptors team.

Hopefully the Pistons look at that success and start to mimic it.  There is no reason for Henry Ellenson to spend his rookie year with the Pistons.  He should have been down in the G-League playing 25+ minutes a night and working on his game.

Ish gone next?

Makes sense.  But I have a soft spot for Ish so I would take him back.

GRIII could be moved too since next year of his deal isn't guaranteed.

He might have more value in the summer though.  A team looking to clear a little more space to sign a free agent would love to trade for his non-guaranteed deal so they could cut him.

This is what should’ve been done last deadline. Doing it now with Griffin makes zero sense to me.

Thanks, SVG

Same here.  I think he could be part of a solution going forward so I wouldn't deal him, he's the only true playmaker on the team. He'll be hard to replace IMO.

Ish could be retained this summer pretty easily. He won’t cost much and a journeyman like him is likely looking for a multi-year deal.

I’d keep Ish. When he and Reggie are healthy this is a different team.

I don't think Gores's heart is in the organization.  The Pistons are a side tracking play thing that I think he'll eventually flip - that's how he's earned his fortune after all.

how times have changed.  the clippers are now a well run team and the pistons are a tire fire.

what a difference ownership makes.
