Game 52: Nuggets @ Pistons

Recommended Posts

7:10 tip tomorrow

Pistons schedule really breaks after this loss to Denver.

I would rest Griffin in this game. You aren’t beating the Nuggets anyway. Get him fresh for the final 4 games before the break.

The Nuggets are an example of a team that the Pistons could've been with the right management and coaching.   Like Detroit, the Nuggets play in a mid market non desirable city for free agents and like Detroit they also never really bottomed out and got a top pick.  Their earliest pick was number 7 with most being in the middle of the first round, yet despite that they have put together a great team.

The crazy thing about Denver is how young they are.

Milsap is a 12 year vet. IT 6 year but hasn't played a minute this year.  Then you have Barton, Plumlee, and Harris at 6, 5, and 4 years.  Everyone else on the roster is 3 years or less experience.

I have liked Malone as a coach since his assistant days in Golden State.  He got hosed in Sacramento big time, so glad to see him doing well now.

And the funny thing is, Millsap is as good as gone this summer. $30 million player option. That’s an easy decline. Lyles fills his spot for a fraction of the cost.

Murray and Harris is quickly becoming an elite backcourt. Morris and Beasley are great backups. Doubt IT even plays much this season.

Denver with 25 points in 5:12 of play. They’re 9-11 from the floor.

Beasley is 3/3

Nice close out by the defensive ace Johnson.

Morris goes right by him for the easy 2

Our draft bust Johnson made a three! Stop the press!

Denver up 2 after one. This is going to be a blowout.

8 minute rest for Griffin. If they could only play him 32 minutes a game they’d be so much better off.

Pistons up 8. Will be interesting to see how they blow this one

Pistons with energy. The ball is moving on offense. People are moving.

This team can die in a hurry. Like totally stagnation on both ends. So I’m not at all confident about this second half.
