The National Emergency Over the Wall

Here is what I believe the bottom line is politically: If tomorrow Trump agreed to turn technical decisions on border enforcement spending to one of Congress' common  bipartisan commissions, I'd wager the Dems would pony up the 5.7 billion in about 10 seconds flat.

This is correct.

There really isn't a lot to debate about until the Conference Committee makes its proposal.

Doofus has already said that whatever bipartisan solution Congress comes up with he will probably reject - but of course let’s hear about the intransigent Dems some more

I still haven't heard a really good reason for why anything Donald Trump says on "The Wall" should just be disregarded. Really baffling argument.

Pain inflicted for 35 days to "set the table"...

Set the table to establish "The Wall" as synonym for "crying wolf".

To be fair, I have never been convinced that the TSA is absolutely essential but we have decided as a country that it is and the  employees are hard working people doing legitimate work.  Plus, the people that complain about taxation tend to be the same ones that are most worried about terrorists.

what's your time frame? We certainly won't be worried about how essential the TSA is once the Sun cycles from yellow to red and expands out to where it swallows Mercury, Venus and the Earth......

Just reread my post and need to edit it.

It should have said are any of us essential, in the great scheme of things. I really wasn’t specifically referring to TSA. Especially since they could easily pull my security badge.

ISIS welcomes the MAGA initiative to eliminate TSA. It would make their job of killing us on our own soil easier.

Food inspectors, railway safety inspectors, FBI agents and IRS auditors.  These are all things that make our oligarch overlords uncomfortable.  Who are we to question such things?

Apparently, today, the wall is already being built, but we need to declare a national emergency to get wall money.

I know, I know... I'm supposed to ignore what he says.

If Trump wants to lie to his base about a wall being built right now, more power to him.

Why do people need to be told what to think on this? Is it really a conspiracy that she's cancelled all appearances, hasn't shown up for work and hasn't been heard from publicly? It's not hard to figure out how this is trending simply by observation. She's an 85 year old with cancer who has not been able to hold her head up straight or stay awake even before her diagnosis. I'm not sure it's difficult to presume things are in steep decline....

Quit Quoting me with your Quackery

You brought the issue up in the first place. Any person that is mildly paying attention sees an 85 year old with lung cancer that hasn't been able to work in quite some time and has made no public appearances. It's not hard to judge which direction that's going.

I'm doing my best to ignore your gleeful death watch, which seems to come up every day.

There's a good "Adam ruins everything on the TSA".  This article claims that the TSA may be responsible for more deaths than it saves (if it saves any).

only American business school grads could up with a scheme to deliberately make things slower in order to sell services to get past the slow downs.
