AOC continues to play the game well.

It's fascinating to see someone with so little power have the ability to get so many people worked up.

This is the problem though.  You're apparently fine with it because it's someone on your team, but this is exactly what is ruining politics.  We need the games to stop.  For AOC to be part of the solution she should stop generalizing.  1) The Daily Caller did not send out 'nudes' and 2) It's the $#@%#@ daily caller.  Who cares?

She is every 'snowflake' you see on reddit.  Add a political stance that 2/3's of the population vehemently disagree with and combine that with the ignorance of government she has, makes her an easy target.

All that said, you can be ignorant and a great leader.  Sometimes being oblivious allows you to push through and build solutions that other folks didn't think were possible.

There's nothing tribal about my comments -- my past comments about AOC being a nobody in Congress with pie in the sky policies that have no chance of going anywhere reflect that.  I find amusement in how the MAGA movement is obsessed with her, which is pretty much the only reason why I bring her up.  I would not vote for AOC - although I do find her to be charming.

I'm not sure Euph is fine with it, tbh. Couldn't tell from that post

I'm not clear what AOC has done that I shouldn't be fine with.  Trump media has told me I should be outraged by her dancing videos and her Sandy nickname in high school, but I didn't find their arguments to be compelling in the slightest.

This is true if you are willing to surround yourself with smart people and you are willing to listen to them when they tell you that you are going off the rails.  If you are ignorant, but think you know everything, you won't be a good leader.

As for AOC, I like her energy and compassion, two things which are very lacking in our government on both sides.  I don't think she is dumb, but she is way too idealistic.  If she can become more savvy (something that can certainly happen when you are 29) while maintaining her good qualities, she can become somebody.

She's never going to be a very good socialist if she can't look out for the people....in her defense, maybe she doesn't know what worker's comp is...

It's like when Trump confused health insurance with life insurance.

I can't understand why any woman would object to having nude pictures of someone else posted and attributed to them.

Donald Trump is also every snowflake I see on reddit.  Not that it excuses being a snowflake as it were.

She really shouldn't have had someone try to circulate fake nudes of her.   She's clearly part of the problem.

If you're going to promote dancing on the job, people could sprain ankles. You need to carry the appropriate coverage.

Logic and truth need to carry the appropriate coverage for the abuse you give them here.

Let me post a quote from the article I posted for emphasis:

"One Democratic campaign veteran scoffed that “it’s not a great look” for Ocasio-Cortez that her campaign received a fine for not carrying workers’ compensation coverage.

This is basic stuff, especially if you hold yourself out to be the champion of workers,” the Dem said."

I didn't abuse logic and truth. Even the democrat quoted knew it was a basic blocking and tackling thing.

Trump media didn't tell you that though.  Some right wing wackos, who happen to support Trump, said it.  I think i'm pretty well versed in the day to day news and it wasn't any media that told me anything about this, it was AOC saying how crazy it was the media was after her over this and every media story I could find focused on AOC's response.

Certainly doesn't always work out, just pointing out that many great inventions/ideas were formed by people that otherwise were incompetent.  Sometimes just getting one thing right is all you need to do in order to change the world.  I agree with you about her energy and compassion.  My biggest concern with her now is that she's going to be in a bubble within Washington so it's possible she doesn't gain enough outside experience to get more understanding of issues at large.  That said, based on age alone, she is definitely still learning and will be for some time.

It is horrible that someone would do this to her.  My issue is:

1) <sarcasm>She's yelling about the headline, even though the story indicates they are fake.  It has been thoroughly explained to me that there is no media bias and as long as the reporter reports the facts, it's your own fault for implying what the article might be about based on the headline. </sarcasm>

2)My real complaint is that she blamed republicans.  That's the game I hate seeing.  She's generalizing the entire party for what a few idiots did. If you can show me where McConnell or Romney were retweeting the 'nudes' i'll back off this statement.

What was untruthful about what I posted? Did she carry the appropriate insurance? Was her campaign not fined? If the article is wrong, please let me know. I'll gladly correct it.

No you won't. You'll just ignore it and go on the next manufactured controversy.

I'm getting this info from Fox and Shapiro.  I don't think you would call them right wing wackos, although your definition may vary from mine.

I never saw AOC's reaction to the dancing / Sandy / nude photo digging revelations, so I can't comment on that front (again - my awareness of AOC primarily comes from Trump media).  I'll research that to see how she handled it.

No I won't. I'll correct it here and now if it's wrong.

Show me any reputable reporting that quotes the fact that she wasn't assessed a penalty and did in fact carry the right insurance. Prove it.

As soon as you prove development in Detroit increased as a result of Trump's tax policy.

You said I would ignore it on the worker's comp thing. I'm telling you I will not. Prove it's wrong and I'll admit I'm wrong. Right here and now.

The problem you have is, you can't prove the article was wrong, but that won't stop your bluster about it simply because you disagree with me politically.

I didn't even read the article. You've been proven wrong so many times and never corrected anything you say.

You have still yet to prove an increase in development in Detroit created by Trump's tax policy.
