I offer thoughts on THE GAME

Recommended Posts

Alternately, presuming the 45 UM win total is correct for the past 100 years (I didn't confirm), it means OSU is leading 51-45-4 over the past 100 years, going 16-4 the past 20 seasons.

20 years ago, UM was winning the rivalry.  Actually, for most of my life UM was winning the rivalry.

Whatever.

Is there supposed to be something significant about the poor font consistency for the various numbers?

and I also object to the phrasing. Michigan has not had a winning record against osu in the last 100 years? Do they mean “over the last 100 years”? They have had winning records over osu “in the last 100 years.” There are definitely people that have died with Michigan having a winning record in their lifetime.

From 1988-2000, Michigan won 10, OSU won 2, and there was a tie

From 2001-2017, OSU won 15 and Michigan won 2

So in my lifetime, Michigan dominated, and then OSU dominated.

Hopefully it changes Saturday, but given that I'm reasonably young and the series is 18-13-1 in my lifetime, it's kind of hard to sell it as long time dominance by either program.

In the last 100 years it's OSU 48 - Michigan 47 + some ties

I doubt there are many more even rivalries in any sport

I guess this is going to be the game day thread.   Winovich is dressed and expected to play.  Don't know how much though.

Can we edit the thread title a tad? Kinda of a big game.

Michigan is the better team and will get stronger as the game goes on. Need to avoid a bad 1st quarter like against Notre Dame and Northwestern.

You'd think the best defensive coach in the country could have figured out that they need to fix the crossing route coverage.

What does OSU do? They crush them with crossing routes. Don Brown has sucked it up the last few games. Needs to be a ton better.

I so miss the quiet broadcast that CBS had for the Lions on Thanksgiving

I really thought I'd like Gus Johnson more.

Someone should tell Harbaugh that football also allows forward passes.  Michigan offense making it real easy for the OSU defense.

Defense with a good follow up series.  Michigan gets the ball back.

Michigan’s offense is very lionsesque. For those of us who cheer for both teams, we are subjected to some of the most bland offensive scheming in all of football.

Michigan made 8 trips to the red zone last week.  Scored one TD.

Are they allowed to throw into the endzone?

One on one up top on a few occasions..

The difference is Michigan has a premier defense so the offense can afford to be vanilla.

7-3 OSU at end of 1st quarter. Michigan with a big red zone 3rd down coming up to start the 2nd.
