The Mandalorian

Unless you subscribe to the non canon theory that he somehow climbed out of the Sarlac Pit in ROTJ, Boba is dead.  The Mandalorian takes place about 6 years after ROTJ....the movie where Boba dies.

I don't think he was insinuating that Boba lived. Also I believe this takes place 3 years after RotJ but I could be mistaken.

Yes, I understand all mandalorians look similar. And yes, you're going to run into the same species once in a while. But with space travel, there shouldn't be so many familiar faces/droids. That's all I was saying. The nostalgia aspect was overdone a bit.

Didn’t mean to group the mandalorians in with my earlier point. That just an aside.

Why would you presume that people here aren’t aware that this takes place after boba fell in the pit?

but for argument’s sake, there is no canon that establishes that boba died or didn’t die, is there? I do recall that there was something from the legends EU that suggested he survived.

What the presence of this Easter egg means could be anything. It could be a nod to that story. It could be a different character from the same clan where boba’s armor originated. Maybe we will find out. Maybe it will just remain as an Easter egg.

I do not presume anything.  You JUST mentioned how the legends timeline says he lived....lol.  Your comment about a Boba looking character was vague.

It is impossible to carry a conversation if you are not clear about what you are saying.  I am guessing it is by design.

And to answer that question about canon and him dying or not...the movies are canon and he ded.

Nobody in tv/movies dies unless we see them die, IMO. We assumed the hound on GoT was dead too. I think it would be cheap if they brought him back so I'm not expecting that anyhow.

I JUST mentioned, for arguments sake, that a possible scenario exists in which he may not be dead.

Nope. The movies are canon and established that he fell in a pit. Nothing more, nothing less.

Did Darth Maul die when he was sliced in half and fell down a shaft?

Even when we see them die they still may not be dead.  It is TV after all.  This specific instance though I think it is safe to assume.  Everyone that has power over the story telling of this movie/plot all say the same things.

Like you said if they did it, it would be cheap and really crappy so I do not expect them to do it at all.  They do not need to do it.

And I think I misinterpreted your take in spoilers:

Spoiler

As yoda does not really have a defined race so I am assuming you just meant a baby yoda in terms of race and not specifically the Yoda we all know.  I guess I should have probably realized that quicker...considering your name and all.

I’d love for Jon Favreau to throw a few Swingers Easter eggs into the show.

That would be so money.

Me and a buddy were just talking about why Yoda doesn't have a race. Strange they've never mentioned it in any of the movies.

I watched it last night and enjoyed it.  I'm glad they are not an hour.  I did have a similar thought about it being like Rebels.... a certain level of campiness but that's ok.  It had just enough of a hook to keep you entertained.  My wife liked it so that's my criteria.  She's not into the other Star Wars stuff and was engaged.

Anytime any creature comes on screen and is green (or written green and alien in the books) I am always looking to see if it looks like a Yoda...I recall when 1-3 came out there were a couple Jedi that were green that looked a little bit like Yoda...I always thought Yoda was soo old and could have been taller when he was younger so thought the green Jedi I was seeing could have been young Yodas.  They were not...I think they ended up being twiliks or something.

Chapter 2 was better, in my opinion. I still have an issue with the tone, but I think I’m just going to have to get used the pacing of a half hour tv show.

I watched Chapter 1 again last night and I didn’t dislike it as much.

Who was Nick Nolte in Chapter 1?

Good thing is my wife was gone last night, when she called me I told her I was trying to find something to watch and she said "Don't watch Mandelorian without me"

He was the guy that helped the mandalorian get to the compound where baby yoda was being held.

I have spoken.

Wore my Darth Vader TV shirt to bowling Saturday and one of the girls that is on a different team asked about the episode and what I thought...my main gripe was how short it was...it was like a 25 minute episode!

I am loving everything about this incarnation of Star Wars.  I have no issues with them bringing back races we have seen before, I get why they are doing it and it does not seem forced in anyway really.  I am sure as it continues we will get new races we have not seen on screen before.

I am just wondering if they are going to do more than one season...for some reason this feels like something they are going to run for one season then turn to something else.  Give some other character a 10 episode series or something.  I would have no issue either way, but I think it actually makes more sense to run this for one season then start a new series revolving around a different character, maybe with a different tone, a different time frame etc.

They are currently shooting the second season.

Shows what I know!  I am fine with it.  I do wish the episodes were a little longer...not by a lot but maybe 5-10 minutes.  Either way it is cool to know there will be another season.

I loved the music and callbacks to Eastwood and the spaghetti westerns.   Is this going to be the reluctant father figure series?

Every episode has been fantastic IMO.  This was no different, but if I had to rank them I would put this one thiiird, but again not by a lot.  They have all been great IMO.

First time I ever watched something on my phone in my truck while on lunch that I actually was looking forward to watching.  Looking forward to watching it on a bigger screen this weekend again.

Spoiler

tinkering....I am wondering if this is some Yoda species trait...it seems to be a way to appear cutesy.  Yoda did it when he first met Luke and it endeared Luke to Yoda right away...same with baby Y and Mando.

The stupid ice cream machine makes a return.  I always thought this was an over blown "error" from the original trilogy..something for the uber geeks to distance themselves from the casuals...just like the whole "Han shot first" thing.

Who was using the force (or something like it) when Mando and the robocop looking Mando were fighting...they both slashed at each other and you can see the blades shimmering like the blaster bolt in TFA when Kylo did it in the beginning and neither one moved like they were paralyzed....same as TFA...I always thought that was a cool part of that movie...we had never really seen anything like that before then.

The robocop mando saved Mandos soul I think with that fight....Mando was being ostracized by his own people and decided enough was enough.

It was cool seeing one of darth mauls species as a bounty hunter and a mon calamari as the next bounty.

Those were vibroblades and they were just sparring, not actually trying to kill each other.
