Game 8: Pistons @ 76ers

85-72 entering the fourth.

You rarely find yourself saying "now that was a good decision" with this team.

Ish really struggling as well. Galloway just isn’t as good as he thinks he is with all those off balance threes he takes.

On Galloway - yup.

Dre is just so weak. Posts up little guys and still tries stupid finesse moves. Goes weak and doesn’t get a call then gets a tech. Terrible.

And there’s 5 fouls on Dre. Just leave him in there. Let him foul out.

A couple chances to get it under double-digits. Jackson takes another questionable trey. Jackson feeds Stanley and he misses a trey. Two more Philly free throws puts it back at 11.

That spurt probably ended it.

ebiid bucket

johnson misses trey and Philly goes down and hits a trey.

It's over. Time to go for a little walk in the woods.

Hard to win games when you are down 20-something on the road.

Didn't see the game but judging the box score it looks like Embiid made Andre his B*tch again.

Embiid owns Drummond.

Good to see Leuer play well. 22 min, 6/7 on 3/5 shooting. They’re going to have to play him at PF with Kennard and Bullock being out. It would be a huge boost to have him back healthy.

Stanley is an absolutely horrific offensive player, but his defense is crucial. Simmons had 9/5. Pistons have nobody else to guard him. Please see last year when Stanley didn’t play. Simmons absolutely abused smaller defenders.

This team is right where they should be 8 games in considering the schedule. Could’ve easily beaten Brooklyn but lost to Philly. Those games cancel out and I’ll take 3-3 in the other ones. They’ve already knocked out 4 of the tougher games they’ll play against Eastern conference teams.

Hopefully Bullock and Kennard can return by the end of the month.

This really is the year for the Pistons to make noise. Ish and Bullock are key pieces of this team and they’re both UFA after the year. Stanley is also up for an extension, which is going to be a tough move to make.

I think this summer is when Andre will be traded. This team desperately needs help on the perimeter. Griffin can play the 5. They really need to get rid of Drummond’s contract and bring in shooting.

Next season the Pistons will (still) be paying Leuer, Galloway, Jackson, and Josh Smith a grand total of $40 million.

Got to find a way to get rid of Drummond’s contract or this team is going to stink next year.

It's a 2 man team and when one of those guys (Griffin or Drummond) has an off game, it's curtains.  The bench is ok.but they are essentially playing 2 on 5 with the starters. Jackson, Stanley and Bullock are non-factors or a net negative most nights.

They should make the playoffs because the east is a joke but this is a quick one and done team. Not much upside to get much better either with the contract situation and no high end young talent. The SVG legacy.

nobody is going to take drummond's contract for anything of real value.

btw, remember the debate about whether we should keep greg monroe or andre drummond?  lolz.  not that drummond is a world beater but monroe doesnt even play anymore.

i remember good ol doctor who arguing that greg monroe was better than blake griffin.  ah those were the days, when pistons kool aid flowed freely.
