Yes, ..and the Baltimore Orioles swept the Tigers in the 2014 playoffs.

Meanwhile, ..this is the 26th consecutive season the Yankees have been a plus .500 team ..and their next 5+ years projections appear to be much more optimistic than the current Tiger organization.

Congrats for taking one part of the post and using it out of context. For about 90% of the past 26 years, the Yankees have had the highest payroll in baseball and most times not even close. That also goes past the signings on the field. Before the draft rules were changed, the Yankees also were able to pay over slot for draft picks allowing them to draft players that should have never been available to them. They also had unlimited funds to signing international players.

I could agree that one of the primary reasons the Yankees have been an elite team for so long is because their payroll has consistently been the highest in baseball.  Simply put ..they SPEND!

So how does the Tigers future success play into that?
