One of the very 1st things I participated in on this board.

Same.   I thought I had P.J Finnegan but now I can't even google him.    May have to go and find that thread.

For the induction ceremonies and they bring out the past inductees I want to be introduced last.... both because it's less time sitting there and obviously the buildup with the audience as they will be wondering if I am going to show up.

For my induction ceremony I want to jog out there like Ron LeFlore did at the Tiger Stadium closing, and everybody thought he was Gates Brown.  As soon as Bert announces the date I can gain 2 pounds per week no problem.  A toasted bagel with butter and Swiss cheese every morning would be enough almost by itself.  And then I'll get busted for child support the same night, like Ron did too.

This is the hat I got for the induction ceremony. It’ll only cost $10 per person. And I know that not everybody is into wrestling, but this is a really cool hat and it’s cheap.

Because of my low post count back then I'd always end up with someone like the bullpen coach of the Mud Hens.

I didn't think they went by post count. But I could be wrong, as usual.

Maybe I just told myself that. Better than dealing with the fact it went by personality.

You can do a search and go back through all the previous threads. I think he tried different ground rules over different years trying to find the best way. I think there were times when people who had a marginal interest in the site got really high picks and never showed up to use them,  or took a whole 24 hours to get around to it, and it annoyed everyone else — who spent a lot of time here — chomping at the bit.

Yoop put an extraordinary amount of work into this.  So much work that nobody else has wanted to do it since he stop doing it.   But if someone wanted to do this next year I’m sure people would be happy for it to happen. I am not volunteering for this.  This place is not church, where if you innocently suggest that something should be done you are nominated to do it.

Whew.  Put up my hand one year at Mass on Holy Thursday and it then took me 4 years to break the expectation that I'd again be an "apostle" getting his feet washed.

As long as you didn't ask the priest for a happy ending you should be okay.

I think it was a combination of post counts and other factors.....if memory serves.

One year, I can’t remember why, I got the fifth or sixth pick and I chose Anibal Sanchez.  He immediately began to suck.  Fortunately some other team knew how to fix him and he’s good again.  For him and them.

The off-season thread is. One cumbersome thread hundred’s of pages long, and the only active thread on the board for almost five months because every possible utterance is posted there if you take “off-season” literally.

Tags were the best thing to happen to this website.

I remember at least one, possibly multiple, Benke tags that were hilarious.

I decline

btw - I didn't care about people making fun of my gifs... never claim they were much

I was most known for pointing out guys who hit 40k posts should not be jerks to new members (defended said new members), then I was told by many that the 40k posters might be jerks, but they were 'our jerks'

turn up the am for another Tigers victory
