It's unfortunate that any fond memories Edwin Jackson had of his time in Detroit are about to be destroyed.

Edwin Jackson vs Jordan Zimmermann

This one might not be over in time for the downtown fireworks show.

Edwin Jackson will break the record for most teams to ever play for with this start. The crazy thing is that he is still relatively young at only 34.  He could potentially play a few more years and rack up some more teams.

He'll tie Octavio Dotel, who set the record at 13 when he took the mound for the Tigers on April 7, 2012.

Dotel: Mets, Astros, Athletics, Yankees, Royals, Braves, White Sox, Pirates, Dodgers, Rockies, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Tigers.

Jackson: Dodgers, Rays, Tigers, Diamondbacks, White Sox, Cardinals, Nationals, Cubs, Braves, Marlins, Padres, Orioles, Athletics.

The Athletics are 61-50 all time on this date.  The Tigers are 49-64.

The only two teams Ty Cobb played for in his MLB career.

I was gonna say Inge only played for the Tigers and A's as well but I just checked and saw that he played with the Pirates for a little bit. I don't remember that at all.

According to baseball-reference, there are 20 players in MLB history who played only for the Tigers and Athletics.  Two of them are Hall of Famers - Cobb and Mickey Cochrane.  The most recent is reliever Chad Smith (2014 Tigers, 2015 Athletics).  Most of them are fairly insignificant, with no other players appearing in more than 100 games for both teams.  Outfielder Rick Peters (1979-81 Tigers, 1983-86 Athletics) comes the closest, playing 208 games for the Tigers and 99 for Oakland.  Other recent players include Jeff Larish, Erik Hiljus, Fausto Cruz, and Matt Roney.

You should have bet that both starters will be gone by the end of the 4th inning.

Casey Mize is in the park today. Looks like the Tigers are going to announce the signing at a 1:45 presser...Clemens also signed:

Mize signed for 500k below slit, and Clemens signed for below slot. Seems like they did what they needed to do so they can sign meadows above slot.

I liked Larish. He didn't really pan out but he had a cool batting stance and great hair.
