“Oh what a day, I love oxygen.” And yeah, the lyrics of WKRP’s closing credits theme song are complete gibberish.  The artist had not yet composed the lyrics but he wanted them to know what the song sounded like so he cut the demo without it.  The producers liked the song so much they wanted it to remain gibberish.

I always took the poodle lid part seriously

There’s nothing wrong with Jennifer. She has a tremendously attractive personality.  She is a stunning visual social product of male wish fulfillment. The kind of woman you would see in a soap opera. Familiar.

Bailey, on the other hand, is more mysterious compared to the common currency found on TV at that time. You sense something unique that others might overlook lurking behind her eyes, something unfamiliar compared to Jennifer, a secret treasure transressing the boundaries of the familiar. A surprising dark allure.

For me it was Diana Rigg as Mrs. Peel and Julie Newmar as The Catwoman.

I was never big on TV celebrities, even as a kid, but Emma Peel was irresistible.

ya know, you have to feel for the guy on the bike here. He provides the bike, the fuel, sets the scene, makes the shot possible to fire Jan into fame and fortune, and he gets....nada

There’s just something about a woman in skin-tight black leather with a faint scent of jasmine in her hair in a dungeon with her victim lying unconscious in the background. Diana Rigg!

Good choice !

What is this baseball thing that you people discuss here?  Is it an inferior derivation of cricket?

This says something about what we really want. We are supposed to want Jennifer Marlowe in a swim suit, but we really want Emma Peel in leather.  I’d be happy to psychoanalyze any of you regarding this issue, at the friends and family rate of $200 per hour.

It was said that television in the 1960s was “a vast wasteland.” Mrs. Peel and her nail-spiked dog collar disagree. In a way it’s hard to believe that some stuff like this actually made it on TV.

It was her attitude.

You're in love with Emma Peel?   Well so was the Boston-area band The Allies   (poor video quality,  sorry)
