No rookie of the year will ever lead his team in sacrifice bunts again.

What’s a sacrifice bunt?

This game will not be played today.  If it was a non-division game, they might wait as long as possible, but with the mass of rain moving into the area with a lot more behind it, there's no chance whatsoever.

Looking at those guns, it's no wonder the power eventually came. I'm only 38, so I always thought that Lou was a string-bean early on based on stats, but I guess not.

By the way, he's a Hall of Famer.

When did he get in? I hadn't even heard about it. I would agree he deserves to be in but so does the all time hit leader and the all time home run hitter. At least, in some people's opinions.

He didn't pull the ball much when he came up but he could rifle a shot down the left field line where he got a lot of his doubles. As he got older it as his ability to pull the ball that improved and then he could get it out of the ball park.

So, they decided to play the game after we all left.  1-1, bottom of the 6th.  Second straight pitching duel - Fiers has 6 innings on 82 pitches, Clevinger 5 on 68.

I like that Fiers and Liriano, and Leonys, have given this team some measure of stability...  keeps us away from laughingstock 100+ losses territory... at least so far.

This team has been snake bit for years with bases loaded and less than two outs...doesnt matter who's on the team, coaches, etc...this team has for some reason been consistently garbage in these situations.
